What's the #1 way freelance writers have gotten clients in 2024? According to the 395 writers who have responded to the 2024 @TheATFW Income Survey so far… 59.5% have gotten clients this year from referrals — outpacing pitching, inbound, & job boards. Are you surprised?

1. After going through hundreds of pitches for my pitch call (with hundreds more to go) some thoughts. And reminder: I am a freelancer too, this isn’t my full time job, but I’m presenting this as intel from both sides of the editor/writer relationship.
