Weekly Weigh-In is tomorrow 👀😁 I still feel like crap; I’m really really frustrated that this sickness stuck around as long as it did; but after today I think I’m near the end of it. Anyway, here are some of the things on my mind the night before the weigh-in, I’m really upset about missing the trip I had planned for this weekend, but I know it’s the right thing to do for my health. I hope you all had a blessed week, let me know how y’all are doing 🙏 #weightlossjourney

18 YEARS OLD… 25 YEARS IN PRISON A Texas teen just got hit with 25 years for a convenience store robbery. The judge made it clear - probation wasn’t even on the table due to his previous record while being held in jail. Said he didn’t have a real chance at success outside. His family broke down in court as the sentence was handed down. At 18… your whole life is just starting - But one decision can change everything forever. Do you think this sentence fits the crime… or is it too much? ⬇️ 🇺🇸

Student athletes and parents repeat after me…. Fast food is not an appropriate pre-game meal. You spend hundreds and thousands of dollars on fees, equipment, specialized training and then feed the body garbage? You have time and resources to plan ahead and you should! Your son and daughters would have more energy, less muscle cramping, better focus, performance and overall recovery with the basics! 3 hours before game time fuel up with a game winning performance plate!! ✅Lean beef rice bowl + fruit + coconut water ✅Grilled chicken wrap + grapes + pretzels ✅Turkey sandwich + fruit + Greek yogurt Keep it simple!

220lbs lost so far, and I’m still this fat. Think of this as a "Before vs During", not a "Before vs After." Read: Zooming out and looking all the way back on where I started from.... Helps SO MUCH. I have spent a LOT of time and effort trying improve my mind and my overall mental health recently. (Journaling, Therapy, Counseling, you name it.) Honestly, it is kind of frustrating to look back on how many times I've allowed my frustrations with small setbacks actually set me back FURTHR than they should have. This past few weeks for example, by not reacting in a crazy way to that bad weekend that I had, I actually conquered the urge to fast or jump to the extremes to get the scale back down. But in doing that, I showcased a much higher weigh-in, and then allowed the criticism from sharing that bring me down in a whole different way. I was very blessed to be able to speak with some friends at the expo last week, and they helped me realize that I need to focus more on how far l've come, and WHY I'm trying to reach the goals I've set for myself; instead of focusing on the small frustrations of the present, and allowing that to throw me off track the way I did. My friend said it in the most helpful way I've heard it; when we look back on this past month, it's just going to look like a blip. Since I'm able to get control of these frustrations and keep moving forward, a month from now, l'll be even lower than the new low that I set for myself in February. SO MUCH of this journey has been mental hurdles more than anything for me lately, and I'm incredibly grateful to have the people in my life that can really help pull me through times like this.

If this were my last tweet, I’d say this with everything in me: Surrender your life to Jesus Christ today. Read your Bible daily. Talk to God in prayer. Stay close to Jesus. Gather in community with other believers. Share your testimony and witness boldly to others. Fuel your body with healthy, single-ingredient whole foods. Exercise consistently lift weights, walk, move. Drink plenty of water. Spend time in God’s creation. Work hard but rest in Jesus. Love and help others sacrificially. This earth is not our home. Stop playing games get real with eternity. Christ is coming back soon. Time is short. Every tongue will confess He is Lord. “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.” -Revelation 1:7 Jesus loves you. Repent and believe while there’s still time. 🤍💙

“I’ll start tomorrow…..” Tomorrow isn’t promised friend. We only have today. I don’t think people take advantage of what’s happening in the present enough. Be where your shoes are. Try the thing. Take the risk or lose the chance. The only guarantee in life is death. We never know when our last day is. Don’t wait. Do it now.

Student athletes: 1. Never leave home without breakfast 2. Always pack a second breakfast on game or training day! How you start the day sets the tone for the day. Fuel up with protein + carbs to support energy, focus, concentration and optimal performance! Here's a simple muscle gain breakfast + grab-n-go options!

Focus on improving your overall diet and snacks rather than buying random supplements on Amazon that promise to “de-bloat.” Most of those products are unnecessary. Your body already has systems in place to regulate digestion and fluid balance. If you want to reduce bloating naturally, start here: •EXERCISE • Eat more fruits and vegetables for fiber and potassium • Reduce excess sodium from packaged foods • Avoid ultra-processed foods • Drink more water throughout the day • Choose fermented foods like kimchi, kefir, pickled onions, or Greek yogurt to support gut health • Be mindful of artificial sweeteners, which can cause GI distress for many people • Opt for traditionally fermented breads like sourdough, which are often easier to digest Quit snacking on BS and then trying to course correct with BS pills and powders. Y'all quick fixes and shortcuts don't work. When you realize this you'll begin making progress!

@EthanBenard Too much junk food and not enough sleep due to staying up late and playing video games will indeed make you sick. Suck it up and lock it in. Enough with the pity party

Had a great conversation with a new athlete in my program about supplement safety today. As part of getting started, we evaluated his meals, snacks, training schedule, and overall nutrition strategy to determine the right supplements to help him reach his goals. During our conversation, he mentioned that a classmate told him about a supplement on Amazon that would help him gain mass. Without asking many questions, he had already ordered it. This opened the door to an important discussion about supplement safety, especially for athletes. We talked about why it’s critical to choose third-party tested supplements and how many products contain proprietary blends, meaning you don’t always know exactly what or how much is in them. In some cases, those blends can even contain substances that are banned in sport. I also reminded him that supplements are meant to fill gaps in nutrition not replace solid fueling habits. Chocolate milk + banana + peanut butter + greek yogurt + honey = much better way to gain weight than some random proprietary blend. Amino acid quality and ingredients matter for muscle building and safety! At first, he seemed unsure about my response. So I asked him, “Is your buddy a registered dietitian who works with student athletes for a living?” He laughed and said, “No… you’re right. That’s why I asked you.” Helping athletes think critically, ask questions, and make informed decisions is just as important as anything we do in training.

Too many participation trophies can lead to: -A developed sense of entitlement -Missed opportunity to learn from failure -Laziness and less effort to perform do your best Kobe Bryant on participation trophies 🏆 “I hate them, It’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard!” Kobe then goes on to say, “Listen, none of us want this trophy. Alright, I get it. But don’t break it. Take it home, put it right there on your mantel in your dream, and every day you look at that trophy, remind yourself of what you’ll never win again, and use it that way…..Dude, I sucked today, I will not suck tomorrow!” As it should be‼️Let’s bring back the #MambaMentality and commit to daily improvement instead of complacency and giving less than our best‼️

Waiting around for a blood test. So annoying. Can’t believe with all our modern tech they don’t have a desk top machine that can just take a single drop from your finger and run all the tests you need in one go.
