What if i tell you that Apple Pay is actually WAYYY SAFER than using your credit card Because your real card number NEVER goes to the next person or merchant Here’s what happens: When you add a card to Apple Pay.. your iPhone creates a special stand-in.. it’s called “Device Account Number” and stores it in “Secure Element” Then, when you tap to pay.. Apple Pay doesn’t use your real card info.. instead it generates a one time code.. a dynamic cryptographic token unique to that transaction It’s kinda like writing a check that self destructs after one use And if a hacker interrupts it.. it’s useless Plus your personal authentication like Face ID is required for payment and that biometric check works directly with the “Secure Element” as well So even if someone steals your phone.. they can’t just start buying things So while your old credit card hands over your card number EVERY SINGLE TIME.. Apple Pay gives hackers and thieves NOTHING but frustration.
