@theLDNstandard @RachelSJohnson Sexual abuse perpetrated by someone you know isn't "the greyest of grey areas", it's the norm for sexual abuse, and if the abuse isn't continuous 24h a day it doesn't make it an "otherwise consensual relationship". If there's abuse in a relationship, it's an abusive relationship.

@JulnesMD @cityalan We teach our medical students that part of their role is to advocate on issues which affect health such as poverty or trauma! It's just wild to think you can separate good science (especially in certain areas) and politics..

Interesting study. So, should ‘scientists’ refrain from expressing political views if it negatively impacts engagement with their research? What if political issues impact on the subjects of that research, such as poverty or trauma and mental health?

This is excellent work. Publicity can come with a price, and that price may be credibility if opinions (like politics) are seen as biased. More research in how social media may influence professional and public opinions is needed - great step in that direction. Bravo

@TheBeetleBox I will DM you as what you describe in your paper regarding the emotional dynamics between staff and patients within forensic mental health settings in particular, is something that I recognised during my ethnographic study of violence in psychiatric wards back in 2016-2018
