Bank earnings, day one is in the books and it went well. We still have more of the big banks reporting this week, and regional and local names follow next week, which is where our M&A book really comes into play. We have solid targets sitting in that book right now, and strong loan and balance sheet numbers at earnings could be exactly the kind of print that gets M&A talk moving on names already on our radar. Worth watching closely as those regionals and locals report. Two things worth flagging that did not show up in this report but will hit next quarter. Trump Accounts, the new custodial investment accounts for minors, only opened for initial deposits on July 4, so none of that activity is in these numbers. BNY Mellon is already positioned as the Treasury's designated agent for these accounts, and other custodial and trust banks stand to pick up meaningful account and platform revenue as adoption builds. Separately, the recent surge in IPO and M&A activity across biotech and other sectors this year has been real, and underwriting and advisory fees from that dealmaking tend to show up in bank earnings with a lag. Both points give us a nice forward guidance angle heading into next quarter, even though neither is reflected in what we just saw. Founders and paid subscribers have access to the full banking book. It is worth remembering why that book exists in the portfolio in the first place. It is not just an M&A watch list. It is our hedge against biotech's binary volatility, and it is a strong compounding hold on its own. Recent dividend raises and buyback activity across several names in the book point to real balance sheet stability, which is exactly what we want sitting opposite the swing for the fences biotech names. More to come as the big banks finish reporting and we move into regional and local season next week. Joe maandhunter.substack.com

Big Banks Just Delivered. Q2 earnings season is off to a tremendous start. JPMorgan, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, Citi, and U.S. Bancorp all delivered strong results, fueled by robust investment banking activity, healthy trading revenue, resilient net interest income, and solid credit quality. Where they stand today: • JPM is trading at or above all-time highs. • Bank of America is within a fraction of a percent of a new record. • U.S. Bancorp is also sitting just below its all-time high. • Goldman Sachs continues to break out toward new highs. • Citigroup remains only a few percent off its recent peak. • Wells Fargo still has room to play catch-up but posted another solid quarter. This is shaping up to be one of the strongest bank earnings seasons we've seen in years. I've been saying it for months: banks remain one of the most undervalued sectors in the market and one of the best hedges against biotech volatility. They generate consistent cash flow, return capital through dividends and buybacks, and bank M&A activity continues to accelerate. Sometimes the best investment isn't the most exciting one. Financials continue to prove that. Don’t say I didn’t tell you.

$CMPS $DFTX $ATAI The FDA’s New Guidance - Psychedelic Drugs: Considerations for Clinical Investigations “Read as a whole, the guidance is not the door slamming that some feared after Lykos. It is closer to the opposite. The FDA has taken a field it clearly believes holds promise and written down, in nonbinding but unmistakable detail, the standard of proof it intends to hold. The message to sponsors and their investors is that the enthusiasm phase is over and the engineering phase has begun.” clinicaltrialvanguard.com/opinion/the-fd…

July 13, 2026 | 52-Week Highs and Lows 52-Week Highs BSVN | Bank7 Corp. | $52.00 Bank7 Corp. reached a new 52-week high as investors continued rewarding well-capitalized regional banks with strong loan growth, expanding net interest income, and disciplined credit quality. CVS | CVS Health | $106.40 CVS Health climbed to a new high as the market continued to recognize the company's diversified healthcare model, driven by strength across its pharmacy, insurance, and care delivery businesses. BNS | Bank of Nova Scotia | $88.17 Bank of Nova Scotia extended to another 52-week high on continued earnings strength, an attractive dividend, and improving sentiment toward large North American banks. HNGE | Hinge Health | $91.50 Hinge Health continued its impressive run as investors rewarded the company's leadership in digital musculoskeletal care, growing enterprise customer base, and expanding healthcare partnerships. D | Dominion Energy | $70.99 Dominion Energy reached a fresh 52-week high as investors rotated into defensive, dividend-paying utilities supported by improving earnings visibility and infrastructure investment. 52-Week Lows CVKD | Cadrenal Therapeutics | $2.34 Cadrenal Therapeutics fell to a new 52-week low despite recently reporting encouraging Phase 2 data for CAD-1005 in heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT). The move appears to reflect a classic "sell the news" reaction following the clinical update rather than a deterioration in the underlying thesis. AVXL | Anavex Life Sciences | $2.30 Anavex Life Sciences reached a new 52-week low as investors remained cautious toward speculative neuroscience names awaiting additional regulatory and clinical catalysts. The Tape Monday's tape continued to show a split market. Financials remained one of the strongest groups, with Bank7 Corp. and Bank of Nova Scotia both reaching fresh highs as investors continued rotating into banks ahead of earnings season. Healthcare leadership also remained intact, with CVS Health and Hinge Health extending their breakouts on strong operational execution. On the downside, weakness remained concentrated in smaller development-stage biotechnology companies. Cadrenal Therapeutics was the notable exception, with shares pulling back despite positive clinical data in HIT, illustrating another example of a "sell the news" reaction after a catalyst. Overall, capital continues to favor profitable companies, dividend payers, and healthcare leaders while remaining selective across early-stage biotech.

Hollywood should be studying ROI as much as raw box office. Obsession: $750k budget → $427M worldwide (600x return) Backrooms: $10m budget → $363M worldwide (36x return) Meanwhile: Supergirl: $250m budget → $110M worldwide (so far but declining) Numbers don’t lie. It’s not about how much money you spend or which major celebrities you have in movies. Tell good stories and entertain.

‘THE ODYSSEY’ had one sequence filmed in such stormy conditions on a 115ft wooden longship in the sea that many actors started vomiting. Nolan then said — “would you mind if we get the vomiting on camera?” (Source: telegraph.co.uk/films/2026/07/…)
