Yeah, the open challenge format gets **hated** a lot right now—feels lazy, waters down the title's prestige, and turns defenses into random TV bangers without real buildup or story (like Cena's era had). Even Melo himself said he wants to bring back earning shots instead of "pull up every Friday" vibes. That said, last night's Melo vs. Ilja match was a straight 🔥 5-star classic, so the in-ring quality slaps... but the format itself? Over it for many fans. Needs a proper feud for Mania. #SmackDown
