I don't know who the "expert" commentator on the war in Iran was that @Channel4News had as a guest tonight but he was the worst kind of American exceptionalist. He was also wrong. He dismissed the need for a UN mandate for war as irrelevant and he said that Britain had a choice in declaring war on Nazi Germany when in fact we had signed agreements with both the then Czechoslovakia and Poland to support them if Germany invaded. We broke the former but not the latter. We had no choice. We took the only honourable course ... eventually.

@CarlBovisNature I have one (& his mate) who visit when the pigeons take a rest! Rarely seen - they are quite clever! - I do actually miss my "back garden" but my "patio" sometimes makes up for it.....😥😥😥 Living "in" town is so much different...😰
