That should have gone to Church and prayed. It would have accomplished a miracle. I have no king, but Christ! #NoKings

As we walk the now to Holy Week we must remember how lonely was Christ's walk to Calvary. We often find the crowds thinning and the noise of the world fading into a profound silence. While the loss of earthly friendscan feel like a desert, it is in this solitude that we finally encounter the only Friend who truly matters: Christ. Human friendships, though a gift, are often as fleeting as the palm branches laid before the gates of Jerusalem; people may cheer for us one day and be absent the next. But Christ is the constant King of our hearts. He is the Friend who does not merely walk beside us, but dwells within us through the Eucharist. As we distance ourselves from the distractions of the world, we realize that Jesus Christ is the only companion who knows the depths of our soul and has already laid down His life to prove His loyalty. To be left with Him is not to be alone; it is to finally be home. To finally know true Peace. In the end, every earthly bond is meant to lead us to the one eternal friendship that survives the grave.

Inheritance is a dumb idea. Pass on your wealth while you’re alive. Kids don’t need help in their 50s to 70s. They need help in their 20s to 40s paying off debt, buying homes, raising children, and starting businesses.

✝️ WHY JESUS RODE A DONKEY… AND NOT A HORSE 😳 __________________ On Palm Sunday, something feels… almost strange. A King enters His city. A crowd shouts “Hosanna!” Palms are raised. And yet… There is no horse. No war animal. No symbol of power. Instead, Jesus chooses a donkey. At first glance, it looks like humility. But it is far more than that. It is a deliberate, prophetic, and shocking statement. ✝️ A PROPHECY BEING FULFILLED IN PLAIN SIGHT This was not случай. It was Scripture unfolding: “Behold, your king is coming to you; humble, and mounted on a donkey…” (Zechariah 9:9) Jesus is not improvising. He is revealing His identity, clearly, publicly, unmistakably. Anyone who knew the Scriptures should have understood: 👉 “This is the promised King.” But again… they missed the deeper meaning. ✝️ HORSE VS DONKEY: TWO DIFFERENT KINGS In the ancient world, the difference was obvious: Horse - war, conquest, domination Donkey - peace, humility, royal legitimacy Kings rode horses when they went to fight. They rode donkeys when they came in peace. So Jesus is making a bold declaration without speaking: 👉 “I am a King… but not the kind you expect.” ✝️ NOT WEAKNESS… BUT CONTROLLED POWER Let’s be clear. Jesus did not ride a donkey because He lacked power. He could have entered Jerusalem: With angels With authority With overwhelming force But He chose restraint. The donkey is not weakness. It is power under control. It is God saying: 👉 “I do not conquer by crushing you… I conquer by saving you.” ✝️ THE DETAIL MOST PEOPLE MISS The Gospels tell us something very specific: 👉 The donkey (a colt) had never been ridden. This is not random. In biblical thought, what is set apart for God is often unused, untouched, reserved. This means: This moment is sacred This kingship is unique This mission is unlike any before it No king before Him rode this path. No king after Him can repeat it. ✝️ THE COLLISION OF EXPECTATIONS The crowd saw the donkey… but interpreted it wrongly. They still waved palms. They still shouted “Hosanna.” Because in their minds: 👉 “The King has come.” But they expected the next step to be: 👉 War. Power. Revolution. Instead, Jesus moves steadily toward something else: 👉 The Cross. ✝️ FROM DONKEY TO CROSS The donkey was the first sign. It was Jesus saying: “I am not here to destroy your enemies. I am here to become your sacrifice.” That is why the story turns so quickly: From “Hosanna!” To “Crucify Him!” Because a King of peace is harder to accept than a king of power. ✝️ WHY THIS STILL CONFRONTS US TODAY Many people still want a “horse-Christ”: A Christ who fixes everything instantly A Christ who defeats their enemies A Christ who brings visible success But Jesus comes on a donkey: Quiet Humble Sacrificial And that kind of King demands something deeper: 👉 Trust, not control 👉 Surrender, not domination 👉 Faith, not spectacle ✝️ THE FINAL TRUTH Jesus did not choose a donkey by accident. He chose it to reveal a truth many still struggle to accept: 👉 God saves the world… not by power/force, but by self-giving love. The donkey was not just a ride. It was a message. And many are still missing it. God bless you 🥰

This is the likely path Jesus walked into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday more than 2000 years ago, and it still exists. Right here. In Jerusalem.

“The crowds that went ahead of him and that followed were shouting, ‘Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!’ When he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was in turmoil, asking, ‘Who is this?’ The crowds were saying, ‘This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth in Galilee.’” —Matthew 21:9–11

Keeping Blessed Palm in Our Home We take our palms home, and reverently place them behind our crucifix; and we would do well to use the palms of all the members of our family, placing them in the living room, the kitchen, the bedrooms, the garden — in any place where we pass our time — that they may remain there throughout the year. Why should we do that? Because at the end of the procession the priest says this prayer: "Lord Jesus Christ, our King and Redeemer, we have carried these branches and sung solemn praises in Thy honor. Graciously let Thy grace and blessing rest wherever these branches are brought; with the power of Thy right hand defeat every evil influence and deception of the devil while granting Thy protection to those whom Thou hast redeemed; who are living and reigning with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen." The palms are not instruments of magic; they are not like superstitious amulets supposed to possess any power or virtue of their own; but they are the visible signs of the powerful prayer of God's Church which calls down the blessing of God upon all the places where they are put. We who have faith in the Church should have faith in her prayers, and make use of their power to our sanctification and protection. (Excerpted from Preparing for Easter by Clifford Howell, S.J.)

Today marks the 10th death anniversary of Mother Angelica, the founder of the world’s largest religious television network, EWTN. Here are some quick facts: * She initiated the channel's operations from a garage studio in Alabama. * According to @RaymondArroyo, she launched the channel with only $200 in the bank. * The network reaches over 425 million people in around 160 countries. * Even after founding the network, Mother Angelica continued to live in the cloistered monastery in Hanceville, Alabama, until her death in 2016. If you were to ask me why the Catholic Church in the United States remains one of the most vibrant faith communities in the world, the first reason I would suggest is Mother Angelica. Her vision and passion for evangelization were so strong that even after her death, EWTN has been successful in carrying out the mission of its founder.

O Lord, I place my trust in Your mercy and abandon my life to Your holy will. Guide my steps in the path of truth and keep my heart faithful to You. Teach me to love You above all things and to seek Your presence in silence and prayer. Strengthen me in times of trial and grant me patience in suffering. May my life become an offering to You, humble and pleasing in Your sight. Purify my heart from all that is not of You and fill me with Your peace. O Lord, receive my prayer and my hope. Lead me always in Your light that I may praise You forever with the saints in Your kingdom.

THE HUNTINGTON COUNTY INDIANA NEWS · Steve Harrison · · OPINION... I’m being taxed on money I never made. Let that sink in. I bought my property outright for $138,000 in 2001. Now the county says it’s worth $246,000. Did I sell it? No. Did I make a profit? No. Did I get a check for $246,000? No. But my taxes jumped like I did. That’s the problem. This isn’t income. This isn’t cash. This is a number someone decided on paper — and now I’m being billed for it. If my stock portfolio doubles, I don’t pay taxes until I sell. If my income doesn’t increase, I don’t magically owe more income tax. So why does owning a home work differently? Why am I being taxed on unrealized gains? A house isn’t just an investment — it’s where people live. And this system means you can do everything right, pay off your home, and still get squeezed harder every year because of a number you never turned into money. You don’t truly own something if you can be taxed out of it. This isn’t about “services” or “inflation.” It’s about being charged for value you never received. And people are starting to notice.
