The Church of England voted 25–0 to move forward with a document describing Israel’s actions as genocide. During the discussion, one priest asked: “What will we say when the last Jew leaves Britain?”

Sure, some of them live this way, and I agree that it’s terrible. But who is responsible for it? Who launched an attack against a much stronger country instead of choosing peace? Who tried to kill civilians while putting their own civilians in harm’s way? A responsible government and a moral army are supposed to protect their civilians, not hide behind them.

While some Christians in the UK are voting against Israel and claiming they are “helping the Palestinians,” Christians themselves face persecution, discrimination, and intimidation in Gaza and the Palestinian territories. There is a bitter irony in campaigning against Israel in the name of protecting Palestinians while ignoring the persecution faced by Christian communities under Palestinian rule.

While the world is told that IDF soldiers seek to harm innocent children, moments like this show a different reality: an Israeli soldier sharing a simple game of soccer with Palestinian children.

Gazans chanting that “October 7 will return” show that too many still haven’t learned the consequences of supporting terror and mass murder. After all the destruction and suffering, glorifying October 7 only guarantees more tragedy for both Israelis and Palestinians.

The reason Israelis are so full of life is that they value it. They celebrate every moment, hold their loved ones close, come together in times of joy and pain, and refuse to let darkness take away their will to live. When you understand how precious life is, you don’t take it for granted. You live louder, love deeper, laugh harder, and hold on to every moment you’re given. Maybe that’s what it means to truly value life: not just to exist, but to choose life, again and again.
