Yesterday I submitted a motion to Southend City Council that forces the Council to prepare for an injunction to be used if the Government tries to impose illegal migrants onto local hotels in our City.
With 2025 being the worst ever year for illegal migrant crossings and 50,000 people arriving here since the General Election. It is more important now than ever to make sure Southend is shielded from the impact of illegal migration.

If Angela Rayner cannot organise her own tax affairs, how can she possibly be trusted to run the Country in the event of the PM being incapacitated? After all, this was not her first rodeo. She was investigated by HMRC, albeit cleared, when she sold her council house in 2015 for not paying Capital Gains Tax. At that time, it was suggested she might not have sought proper tax advice. Surely, she must have appreciated that getting property tax payments right where your life is complicated is not straightforward. That is what tax advisers are there for. Being Deputy Prime Minister requires you to have sufficient judgment to get the right advice when you need it.
