@TheCoachHotRod I’ve been trying to find BIG guards and tackles. Feel like pancakes are in and I’ve been trying to be a run first team. Found a 6’ 4’’ 330 pound guard who I got up to 80 run blocking pretty quickly and he’s dominant.

What are the main things you look for when recruiting in CFB 27? And do you have a certain strategy you follow? Specifically if you're at a G6 school but interested in what everyone's strategies are.

@johnnyutah78 Find older 2 stars in the portal. Some dudes are in the low 80s, just kinda capped. For example Luke Mergott from Duke usually hits the portal (breaks my heart) and is a 2 star OLB.

@TheCoachHotRod They are a rare breed. You need to recruit to system you play. Getting to my first offseason. Hoping portal will have something for me. Build the o line is alway priority

@johnnyutah78 I’ve hunted for some 2 star QBs with over 90 throw power. Very rare but you can find it. I do think that once you get a little NIL, it’s best to spend that on a 3 star QB because it’s easier to find one with 90+ throw power

@TheCoachHotRod 0 NIL. 0 offers. Raw strength o line cuz the QB can’t throw deep at lower level stars.

@KodiakGainzz I recruit for what I’m looking for but it can be multiple archetypes. Like if I want to run the ball I’ll ignore the Pass Pro OL but will look at all the others. Prefer Well Rounder and Raw Strength but Agile can be good pullers

@TheCoachHotRod When scouting, do you stick to one arch? Such as pure runner, east/west and raw power or do you recruit all over the board

@TheCoachHotRod One way I save scouting points though is I won’t even scout a player if he has a significantly lower playing time grade compared to the rest of the position group

@JakeCapano Same. Those being so expensive really makes a recruit's baseline on those super important. Especially if they're a 2 star

@TheCoachHotRod Mostly ratings that pertain to quickness or power since they are way more expensive to upgrade now.

Yeah I think that was a mistake. It’s really down to the cost imo. Too expensive for most teams that would recruit 3 stars to begin with. Budgets for most mid to lower p4 teams are going to be 1000-1500 for recruiting. 15 3 stars would be a stretch with that budget unless you get FBs, Ks, and Ps. That’s why I say it’s basically a supply and demand issue. There’s not enough dynasty points for those teams to get enough of those recruits

Personally, I think the recruiting issues in dynasty can be solved by making some recruits much cheaper. It’s simple supply/demand. Roughly half the 3 stars need 0 NIL and the other half need to have their starting point cut in half 4 stars need to cost what 3 stars currently cost currently. It might not fix EVERYTHING with recruiting, but it’d be a good starting point

@LHFanBattle Essentially it’s a supply/demand. The price of those recruits are too high, so it forces a lot of those teams to go to cheaper options to fill their board

@LHFanBattle Lotta mid/low level P4 teams are going after 2 stars due to lack of NIL. Recognized it when starting a Coastal Carolina dynasty to test stuff out. 2 stars were so difficult to get because I was competing with NC State, Vandy, etc
