None of these people will ever try to verify what's being reported, much less come back weeks or months later to check whether or not the report was accurate. They'll simply run with whatever CNN, Axios, or the New York Times tells them because it provides convenient cover for their concern trolling. Either these people are idiots, or they’re subversive counter-signalers who want to use mainstream media reporting in order to demoralize the Right, despite the fact that our present political climate was built upon decades of pattern recognition by Right-wing Americans that the mainstream media had become nothing more than a propaganda arm for Leftists who hate them.
