The total value of every coin/stock, etc of a particular thing. If there is 1 million of something and they are worth $5, the market cap is $5 million dollars. Its a good way to compare assets that have different floats ( available shares/coins) to the public. Bitcoin only has 21 million available, so its reasonable at $100,000 per coin. A crypto that has 1 Billion available would not be feasible to hit $100,000. Becuase the market cap would be ridiculous. Make sense?
