@realparadyne @AntarisZX File.ReadAllLines is great for smaller files (like your 10MB ones) but because it pulls the entire file into memory, and he's working with a 47GB file, it's unlikely to be an option in this case.

@AntarisZX I've done similar but with logs split into many 10Mb files. File.ReadAllLines() worked great for that. I would test the file reading separately from your processing as I reckon it's the second part you need to worry about more.

What's the fastest way to read a text file line by line in C#. Order is important for what I am working on. A 47Gb file is taking 5hrs on a fairly beefy rig. #csharp #dotnet

@conwakk @Lawbster_ Did @Lawbster_ jump to conclusions with his original tweet? Yes. Looking at it objectively, without bias, can you see why he would think he was hacking though? You can tell someone they're wrong without insulting and mobbing them but that's not what happened here.
