@__silent_ Unpopular opinion (yet): Rockstar Games is a terrorist company. They terrorize everyone they don't like - former employees, current employees, modders, content creators, community members, random brands, etc., even if none of them is doing anything bad.

@__silent_ Just a reminder that a corporation is NEVER your "friend" or "family" as they love to pretend. Managers will gladly fire you to improve the numbers, even if it only makes things look good for a week. They don't care about you, your family, or your well-being.

It's comical how short-sighted gaming layoffs can be sometimes. I guess they don't really care about the performance of their product or long-term impacts, only need to get that positive cashflow number at the end of the next month.
Evanosaurus “Unrawrl Engine 5.7” Rex@evankinney

i have done so much for this company and our games so many late nights so many weekends so many live events, and competitive events, and new features, and new seasons solid performance reviews every time with multiple people mentioning how critical i am and what an impact i make across multiple teams just to be thrown out i don’t get it.

@TheDisquse @Double_Lamekid @JohnnyS89206078 @thepix_elated @salingergregor My point is that the same thermal constraints arm has apply to x86 to a significantly higher degree. Also, any modern arm chip can run instructions with almost identical functionality to x86. If anything there's certain aspects of arm that are better for some complex calculations

@TheDisquse @Double_Lamekid @JohnnyS89206078 @thepix_elated @salingergregor Try fitting a x86 chip into a phone with enough cooling for it to not thermal throttle within minutes. Your argument is braindead. You can barely make a high end x86 chip work in a laptop without cutting the power or making the laptop way too thick. Laptops also have more cooling

@TheDisquse @CameronDaGreat @JohnnyS89206078 @thepix_elated @salingergregor Uhh you can already run console games like AC and DS2 on the 17 pro and even the 16 pro tho less so at completely playable frames. Then you introduce the huge conductive heat sink that is the aluminum body of the Neo and thermal headroom isn’t an issue for an efficient arm soc.

@TheIvaneh R* seems to be enjoying reselling the same game 3-4 times in a row, so I doubt it's just a Sony thing.

In light on recent news which can't stop getting reiterated and recycled, I can’t help but wonder how long Sony will try to keep GTAVI off PC. You can bet this is a major point of discussion between them and Rockstar. Sad to see such a top-tier developer so deep in bed with Sony.

@JohnnyS89206078 @thepix_elated @salingergregor Wrong the single core on the i5 is almost half the speed. The multi core isn't drastically different but the igpu on the core i5 isn't in the same ballpark.

@0xbuts @LundukeJournal can you explain what exactly the issue is with using Rust to write a sudo implementation?

The Lunduke Journal@LundukeJournal·
The Rust-re-write of sudo has decided to prioritize “user experience” over security. “Change the default so that asterisks are shown when entering passwords.” … “Security is theoretically worse since password lengths are exposed to people watching your screen, but this is an infinitesimal benefit far outweighed by the UX issue.” This change has already been included in the upcoming release of Ubuntu 26.04, scheduled to ship in April. github.com/trifectatechfo…
