Story Time with Money Plane: Three days ago I made a post about a @playSHRAPNEL promo in @pixels_online. people in the comments lauded both communities for their innovative marketing. There's just one problem. This is photoshop. I made it up😭Huge credit to both of these communities, they're crushing it so hard that a lot of people believed it and didn't even second guess that this was a thing. Including the teams themselves. I thought most people would know it was a joke. Who would want to grind up these adorable chibis? Shrapnel is already an existing item in pixels! To my amazement, both Pixels and Shrapnel seemed ready to make this or something like it a reality. The lesson from this (if there is one), is don't let your memes be dreams. Putting stuff into the universe manifests it. Do the thing and see what happens! ~fin

Great question. In terms of cheating / hacking / ai, fully onchain games prevent cheating or hacking in the true sense of the term. The player can't manipulate the game state in one way shape or form. The deeper answer to your question is yes entire competitive game industry will have to figure out how AI & other software tools impacts the game. For example, I had a poker tracking software for playing on FullTilt / Pokerstars back in 2010. This was legal to use software, as long as you only used your own hand data to populate the software. It basically told me the type of poker player my opponents were, even detailed stats on raise % on flop. I could have have 10,000 hands on that guy, and know they basically only raise on flop with the nuts. That's a huge advantage to my play skill, and even more so if that opponent doesn't have a similar piece of software. When you look at that, the longterm solution is to empower users with tools and solutions that make them much better competitively. A more recent example is TFTtactics. I'm probably, no joke, 50% better at the game on my desktop where I can view a tft tactics data website. When I'm on mobile, I struggle especially earlier in a season. Just another example of the skill % swing software can give, and why the solution for users is to embrace rather than try to fight. The other component is that the game isn't a nash equilibirum game, aka it isn't solved: For context: "Nash equilibrium in game theory is a situation in which a player will continue with their chosen strategy, having no incentive to deviate from it, after taking into consideration the opponent’s strategy." Games like this are easily solved and won't stand the competitive test of time. Players need to be able to counter dominant strategies with other more niche strategies that are generall -EV but super +EV against certain dominant strategies. If a game has a "Always do A, no matter what" strategy in the game, it will have major issues with botting or AI.

The synergies between the blockchain and competitive games involving money is undeniable. All roads lead..
