@IanIreland @TheDriveRide My issue, as a coach driver, is similar in that he says you shouldn't pass "irritating" middle lane hoggers on the left. But I'm not allowed in L3 and they just wont move. Bollocks! I often sit in L1, at the speed limit for my vehicle (60) passing anything that sits in L2.

@TheDriveRide @Biking4Pleasure What about; Rule 268 In congested conditions traffic in left-hand lanes may sometimes be moving faster than traffic to the right. In these conditions you may keep up with the traffic in your lane even if this means passing traffic in the lane to your right.

@KevinMc38788560 @JimNotBob It’s frustrating Kevin, the drivers that just sit in the outside lane(s) cause the problem. The Highway Code says when you can pass on the left. It’s all in the article and you can see how your scenario fits in 👍

@JimNotBob @TheDriveRide Is it considered undertaking if you are in the inside lane, and without changing lanes, you pass a car that is in the outside lane? If I'm at or below speed limit, no traffic in front of me, in my lane, why should I have to slow to stay behind car in outside lane?

@JimNotBob Same on most dual carriageways and motorways Jim. More than poor lane discipline the drivers that do it are probably rubbish at driving in general

@TheDriveRide The N25 that I travel on most days is a dual carriageway, a lot of cars sit at 80kph on the overtaking lane when the speed limit is 120kph, can be very frustrating to sit behind them.
