Got bored, so this happened!

Next up is.. thomas. My thomas is made from a hornby e2. The tanks are a old dapol kit and the rear running board was cut at the dip and replaced with a old hornby jinty's to get flat. The whistles were placed as in the tvs but the model looks a lot like awdry's Stay tuned.

What was the point of flattening Thomas's running board? I know why Awdry did it but there's no way Thomas's buffers were ever actually at different levels, imo the back beam just had a lot of "forehead". Just bigger tanks and better valve gear access? Doesn't seem worth it
