I got smacked with a fine because I wasn't withholding enough on my normal job where I claim zero dependents and nothing else crazy to defer my taxes. The record refunds are the top .01% that already make ungodly amounts

@CeramicDice @lobotomy_user At one point, the IRS only saw what you sold, not when you bought. So it is possibly this was based only on the buys and not on the many sells subtracted to get the actual amount earned. Got me once before, about died reading it. Cost $300 to re-file and wiped the debt, lost $.

The only remotely close to this would be full custody of your own funds, in a push only system, like a stable coin; AND also in only a system where you do not pay 3rd party healthcare. A full universal healthcare system would be the only acceptable solution to even consider this.
