Most of the people don't know this It was the time when India withdrew weeks before the Brazil voyage, despite being qualified for FIFA World Cup 1950 Many people believed that Brazil barred them for playing barefoot, while the reality was something else. The real reasons were huge travel costs, lack of preparation time and AIFF prioritizing the Olympics. So despite support offers from FIFA, India withdrew on May 23, 1950.
