So less than a week ago, I started to help propel an initiative to verify the BTC Ordinals community on Twitter. Some of you may have seen this orange square 🟧 popping up next to people’s names recently. I always have emphasized I’m here to promote transparency and ethics with all that we do, and all that we support. I have since walked away entirely from the project, prior to mint. I have no further association with the team or the project, and will not be supporting further.
With that said, I can attest that this initiative is being led by people with very selfish intentions, and they are only promising you one month of any utility, at which point the “project” will be over unless you pay for the continued verification services yourself. Hearing the conversations and frantic energy behind the scenes, I feel I have a responsibility to share my concerns.
Also, they do not have the blessing of leaders of the Ordinals community that they approached and shared their idea with. But they do follow them to give the perception they’re aligned with the project. Instead of taking their time and finding a solution to collaborate amongst the BTC community, they chose to defiantly move forward without the support of those that have been leading the Ordinals community forward since it began.
I would highly discourage supporting this upcoming mint, because all you will be doing is enabling opportunists to grift off the community once again.
