You are handing over your full identity and financial details to people you’ve never met. Not everyone has bad intentions— but not everyone deserves that level of information either. And yes, we all use payment processors. The difference is established companies have infrastructure, regulation, and a reputation backing them.

When we're looking at an item under review, the main points we look for are: - an accurate title / gift name. -a good description (usually to explain why or what the item is being requested for). -an appropriate image (non-NSFW / Suggestive images that accurately portray the requested item). For example: - New shoes - No description - Picture of a random pair of shoes from Google - $2000 total cost Would not pass validation due to it being extremely vague about the specific item they've requested and unrealistic goal amounts. However: - Lightning McQueen Crocs - "Lightning McQueen is my role model and I want to look just like him" - Picture of the Lightning McQueen Crocs in question - $80 total cost This would pass validation, due to a clear name, description and item image, along with a realistic price. Another thing we look for when validating the item is the account history. If someone has requested 100x iPads in the past week, it's going to raise some eyebrows. In which case we would reach out to clarify their use of the platform.

@Regina_Findom @splitroapp of course - i only ask these questions because i’ve seen this film many times before! i’m all for new platforms with new ideas, just as long as they have all the moderation in place. the cycle of stripe-powered platforms gets tiring after a while!

We are manually reviewing each wishlist item (reviews per item taking ~8s). Our platform is built around crowdfunds for larger gifts, so there is no concern around reviews causing bottlenecks either. We're extremely confident in our review policies and our standing with Stripe. We also provide rejection reasons, should an item unfortunately not pass validation, so creators can ensure they stay compliant with TOS.

@splitroapp @Regina_Findom every platform that uses stripe says the same thing though, and then they get closed down. what are you doing differently? are you manually reviewing everything? or do you have a more lenient contract with stripe?

Hi there, we understand the concern. We have a very robust approval system for wishlist items / content, so that inappropriate items / content that could break either Splitro or Stripe TOS are not allowed. The epidemic of $100 coffees etc is not a problem on Splitro. If you'd like, I can give you a broader explanation of how our platform works?
