🪑 There is a lot of fun tripod action with the chair in Suzume! Especially in this shot where the concept is introduced. Check out how unbalanced weight is explored with this very unique character.

In other cases, (e.g. your character is studying an object closely) asymmetrical triangle patterns gives your eye darts some texture and visual interest. While this demo is pushed for clarity, remember to keep it subtle.

𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐬🔻 In conversation, we look back and forth between the other person's eyes and mouth to read their expressions and discern their intention, creating the triangular pattern.

❤️💚 Here is a shot embraces the subtle and still ... by restraining the animation, the shot lets the audience's mind focus on a moment of storytelling within the film, a quiet moment that feels like a sigh of relief and draws the audience into the mind and experience of Aau.

I do believe the animator used the leftward movement of the cape to give a pseudo-anticipation and use the contrast to give more emphasis to the swish that follows. Whether this was intentional or not, it still feels satisfying to watch in a way that's worth calling out.💖

🎻 Love this shot from Gobelins' Niccolo! 🎞️ We already did a video on transformations, but I just had to take another look at the topic when I saw this ... 🎨 Shout out to the beautiful color change from the vibrant golden to uneasy green! It influences the mood shift so well!

👀Look closely . . . Animators love to add smear frames wherever they can! Smear frames can be used to define movement and emphasize the direction of the motion. We usually don't want the smears to be too noticeable, but they're fun to spot when framing through the animation!

When we are presented with a new information, 𝘄𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱. Sometimes this takes several seconds and sometimes it takes a matter of frames. It's important to represent this to create a more human performance.

👀Where is your audience looking?? You can use the moving elements and composition of your shot to lead the eye from one character to another. It's like a subconscious trick to tell people where to look, and they might not even realize . . .
