The Groblersdal Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit urgently needs your help to re-arrest a convicted rapist, 61-year-old Themba Patrick Mbokane, also known as "Shlanu." Mbokane was found guilty of raping a 16-year-old girl in Dennilton on December 27, 2016, and was sentenced to 15 years in prison on May 16, 2018. He was granted bail pending an appeal, which was unsuccessful. A warrant for his arrest was issued in 2023 and he has been on the run ever since. Police are intensifying their search. If you have any information about Themba Patrick Mbokane's whereabouts, please contact: * Investigating Officer Sergeant Pebetse Maile: 073 124 8821 * Crime Stop: 086000 10111 * Your nearest police station * The MYSAPSApp Let's work together to bring him to justice! Please like this page to help us spread the word and support the efforts of the SAPS.

Charlotte Maxeke was born on this day in 1871 to John and Anna (née Manci) Mannya. Today marks the 155th anniversary of her birth. Maxeke was present at the founding of the ANC but was never its member because the ANC did not extend membership to women until 1943, which was 4 years after her death in 1939. But that very extension of membership to women was the fruit of her relentless engagements with the organisation individually and through the Bantu Women’s League, the organisation she founded in 1918 5 years after she led the 1913 women’s anti-pass campaign.

Slave masters also had sex farms where they would rape black men, women, and children. The raping of Black men was called buck breaking. Marriages among the African slaves were also not recognized by their white enslavers.
