I have five daughters. I would argue it would be difficult to find someone more dedicated to seeing women succeed than the parents of this pride of girls. It doesn't hurt that they're all animals when it comes to working around the farm. They do push social expectations while treasuring girly things. They also love to game and I believe they would be a great value add to the industry if that was something they wanted to do. All of the above to say...women should not be excluded from the game development scene...but activism pushed by any group is usually a problem. We all see right through it. The developers love in a bubble they made themselves where they are patting eachother on the back for how woke they can be. The consumer isn't buying it. Literally. Great job doing what you do and I spiring your youngsters to do it too. It's not an easy industry to compete in. If you're doing well it's because you're merit shines through all of the other people's bullshit.

Trans people don't have to "earn the privilege" of being referred to with their pronouns. If you purposefully start misgendering a trans person, once they don't agree with you, then you're transphobic. There is no other way to say it.

When your worldview treats our existence as inferior, any language that places us on an equal conceptual footing feels threatening. "Ciis" also breaks their ideological framing. It forces them to acknowledge that everyone has a gender identity, not just trans people. It challenges their claim to be the "neutral" or "natural" category and exposes that their status as the norm is socially constructed. Their anger isn't over linguistics. It's existential "Ciis" removes the hierarchy they're trying to preserve. They want to keep trans people as second-class people.
