I love celebrating gaming milestones, but today is my birthday! I wanted to thank everyone for their kindness and support. It’s fun to share gaming history and memories, and to hear the stories you share as well ❤️ It’s challenging to share everything I’d like to with the busy day job, but this truly is a fun outlet for me and I really appreciate you. I haven’t met all the goals I’ve set for the year but am happy I’ve started on a few! I’ve streamed weekly for the last two months. So far I’ve bested Zelda 1, the arcade versions of X-Men, TMNT, and Turtles in Time. I’m through Palace 4 on Zelda II (using original hardware in my retro corner!), and will resume Saturday afternoon in @Twitch (christina_rose_ ☺️). I also have some large video project that have required National Archive research! I can’t wait to share! Also thank you to Hellion for this awesome Nerds dress! They were one of my favorite candies as a kid 😊 Again, thank you for your support, and I hope you all have a lovely day!

Mowed 5 acres, weed eated everything that couldn’t be mowed, fell 3 trees by axe (chainsaw was being an ass), cleaned the chicken coop, sheared the sheep, went grocery shopping and changed two tires. I think I’m done for the day.

Holy CRAP! jnmartin gave me access to his private Sonic R decompilation repo, which will serve as the basis for the Sega Dreamcast port. I was able to build Sonic R NATIVELY for my x86_64 desktop, running Ubuntu 24.04, and immediately begin playing after just typing "make" and then passing the binary the location of my ripped (yet legally purchased) PC assets. ...but while he's at it, jnmartin has decided to make the base decompilation codebase platform-independent, so this should theoretically work on any platform that supports SDL2 and very basic OpenGL--no shaders required--with very low system requirements. jnmartin already has it running fine on the latest MacOS version on Apple silicon, and now we can confirm it works fine on Debian Linux distros, no problem. Next up we'll test for Windows. Oh, and by the way, to everyone freaking out over the fact that the decomp is starting from the PC version and not the Saturn version, lamenting the less vibrant coloring... Your voices have been heard! CHECK IT OUT NOW!!! ...just imagine 4p netplay between Windows, Mac, Linux, and the Sega Dreamcast! 🤯

@XRPee1983 Yeah the ps3 itself was really cool, there just wasn’t that many games I personally was into for it. Sackboy was the shit though.

@TheGraele I concur. But the PS3 was half decent. The PS2 was one of the best consoles thar Sony ever made.

The #PlayStation died to me after the PS3. But that's just me, I just dont see myself ever owning a PS4, PS5 or the eventual PS6. The PS3 was peak PlayStation.
