In Sufism, poetry is a "privileged means of conveying spiritual realization, the fulfillment of the human potential." Not all who attain this realization compose poetry, and not all poets attain this realization.
As Rumi writes:
Between the realized saint and the imitator are great differences,
for the former sings like David, while the latter is but an echo.
The saint’s words rise up out of burning passion,
but the imitator has memorized some old sayings.

@MusaAdnan The Salafi creed emerged later through the surviving documents.
It is a bottom-up attempt to reconstruct the understanding of the early generations.

This video serves as an example of the importance of staying in your lane.
من تكلم بغير فنه أتى بالعجائب
Whoever speaks in matters external to his field ends up producing strange positions…
In this video, this speaker has ostracised millions of Muslims who trace their creed back to the time of the pious predecessors.
He speaks as if the Salafī creed was born with Sh. Muhammad bin Abd al-Wahhāb, whilst any basic student of ‘Aqīdah is aware that scholars of this creed predate Ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhāb by circa a thousand years. Even those who critique this creed and claim that it doesn’t represent the ‘Aqīdah of the Salaf acknowledge the point that it predates Ibn ‘Abdil Wahhāb, citing Ibn Taymiyyah’s creed as a prime example (d. 728AH).
Furthermore, his categorisation of acceptable creeds into ‘Ash’arī, Māturīdī and the Tahāwī creed is bizarre for multiple reasons. First, he argues that these creeds are the ‘Aqidat al-Salaf, whilst ignoring & sidelining the creed of the Imām of Ahlus Sunnah, Ahmad bin Hanbal. Was his creed not the creed of the Salaf? Second, his mentioning of the Tahāwī creed as the third creed adds to his blunders. Both the ‘Ashā’irah and the Māturīdīyyah would claim that the creed of al-Tahāwī reflects their ‘Aqīdah, as would the Atharīs. Specialists in this field from each of these schools do not treat the Tahāwī creed as a separate school of ‘Aqīdah.
As for his immature, ridiculous comments like “you have a mind of a nine-year-old” and “you have some IQ in your head?” — they do not deserve a response. Such statements only reflect badly upon the one who says them.
This is just a brief response; much more could be said on this mess of a video.

Salafism is persuasive to those who lack the capacity for abstraction. No knowledge of forms, only matter.
High IQ: realm of essences, knowledge of necessity, possibility, impossibility.
Low IQ: realm of imagination, literalism, correlation, stories

Talking to international students during my MA I was pretty shocked by how secular they said their generation are, it’s happening even in places like Egypt. We’re going to end up in this weird position where Islam is a more potent political force in the UK than it is in Iran
