T4 response: I was also given the opportunity to attend the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Younger Fellows Forum @RACSurgeons as the @AcademicSurgery international representative in Australia last year. #CTCareers

T4 response: Helping to develop sessions for the STS Annual Meeting gave me the opportunities to be involved in creating content for the meeting and help other surgeons with their career development. #CTCareers

@jdphillipsMD T3 talk to anybody you know that are in the societies. Often there are many easy ways to get involved like writing blog posts or being on webinars. Be prepared to contribute in order to maximize your experience with the Society. #ctcareers

T3 also be willing to help on areas that might not be your first choice #CTCareers

Connect with others and volunteer to help, show up, do the work #CTCareers

T3 response: If you are asked to be on a committee, show up to meetings and participate!!!! #CTCareers

T3: show up (pro tip for life too!), be friendly, be approachable, and be willing to listen and learn from others. #CTCareers

The Association for Academic Surgery @AcademicSurgery has great opportunities for early career surgeons and trainees to get involved! #CTCareers
