I'm not complaining, we were fine. I'm just saying if rice and beans were good enough for a hard-working, law-abiding American, they're good enough for someone who lives off of my work.

Me and my wife and kids lived on rice and beans for years as we paid off debt. I would often go to Aldi to pick up our meager groceries for the week and would be in line behind someone buying ribs, pizza, ice cream, and soda on food stamps.

How about we replace all of food stamps with unlimited rice and beans? If you're actually starving, then you'd be thrilled to get rice and beans. You probably don't even need to means test this program, since most people would prefer other foods.
