Taking a major step forward in securing global raw materials, JSW Steel announced its coking coal mining project, Minas de Revuboè (MdR), at a ceremony held in the Moatize coal basin of Tete Province, Mozambique. The event was attended by the President of the Republic of Mozambique, His Excellency Mr. Daniel Francisco Chapo, with Mr. Parth Jindal, MD, JSW Cement and Paints, Mr. Robert Shetkington, India’s High Commissioner to Mozambique, and other distinguished dignitaries. The mine will be developed in phases, with the first phase expected to produce 2.4 million tonnes per annum of prime hard coking coal. Its proximity to key ports also positions it well to support India’s growing steel ecosystem. As we move towards our vision of achieving 50 MTPA steel capacity in India by 2030, initiatives like these strengthen our long-term journey towards a #BetterEveryday
