@court_college @LBC I set out what the 2.5% equates to. And where 2.6% takes us. I also set out that previous governments’ record on defence spending wasn’t good. It’s not a right or left wing thing. My point is simply about priorities. And needs.

@LBC @thejamesmax I met James and never knew he was this right wing and uneducated. 2.2% and 2.5% of UK GDP is a very large sum. The conservatives reduced the armed forces to record low numbers and spending. When the conservatives were elected there were circa 5 food banks in the UK!

It’s not just about jobs. Did you hear what I said? We should employ UK trained doctors. Pay frontline staff more, remove the tax cliff edge to improve take home pay and incentives, whilst cutting waste in admin to pay for it. This is a failure of workforce planning. Striking isn’t the answer to fix this.

James Max is so thick, he doesn't understand the Resident Doctors Strike is about jobs, so it benefits patients in the long run. His job is safe, because no-one wants to be @thejamesmax. #residentdoctorsstrike #JeremyVine
