Just found out you can set a function as the initial value of useState to avoid expensive calculations running on every render. useState(() => someHeavyFunction()) instead of useState(someHeavyFunction()). Interesting. #Buildinpublic #webdev #React

useState seems simple until you've used it wrong a few times. Putting too much into one state, updating it in the wrong order, wondering why the UI isn't reflecting what you expect. It's one of those things you only really get by breaking it first.😔 #Buildinpublic #React #webdev

@TheKingMaker37 that's the right move honestly. The platform stuff is noise. What matters is you're still learning and shipping — that's where real growth happens. Building in public is great but building itself is whats actually valuable. Keep going.

Day 43. Started a new project today — recreating my ToDo app. Came across Math.random() and Math.floor() again. I’ve learned them before, but today was the first time I actually used them properly. Using them for random input placeholders —it finally clicked. #BuildInPublic

Day 36. Today I learned about destructuring props and state in React. Also explored the two different ways to destructure them, either directly in the function parameters or inside the component body. I prefer the former. #BuildInPublic #WebDevelopment #React #JavaScript

Day 35. Still deep in React state. Today I focused more on useState, how it works, how it updates values, and how re-rendering actually happens. It looks simple at first, but understanding what’s really going on takes practice. Omo… I still have a lot to learn.🥲 #WebDev #React

Day 34. Learned more about props and state in React today. Props are passed into components and are immutable, while state is managed within the component and can change. Really getting how they work differently in functional vs class components. #BuildInPublic #WebDevelopment

Day 30. Finally added JavaScript to the project. Implemented event listeners on the test drive form so users get a confirmation message after booking. I also plan on added more to the input or search section. Day 30 ✅ #BuildingInPublic #WebDev

Day 29. Finally finished all the pages of my automobile website, but now comes the tricky part, figuring out where and how to add JavaScript. I’m a bit stuck on where it makes sense to incorporate interactivity, but I’m excited to experiment and learn. #BuildInPublic #WebDev

Day 28. Worked on another page today and went back to the Maps API to get a better understanding. JS still feels a bit far, but I’m taking it step by step, focusing on finishing the HTML & CSS first before diving into the interactive parts. #BuildInPublic #WebDevelopment
