Dear Friends and Followers: Yesterday I woke with the intention of posting this video of Thursday’s distribution of delicious ‘Hummus Fatteh’ but a rather different delivery took precedence: the arrival of our baby daughter Janna!! As you can imagine, everything instantly fell by the wayside! I am delighted to report that both mother and child are wonderfully healthy and well and here is the somewhat belated video! Despite my personal joy at this time, I must tell you that our situation is catastrophic - as a result of closed borders impeding the ingress of any aid and the coinciding disappearance of donations from the world at large. As during the previous manufactured famine, there is some fresh local produce but no money for the vast majority to buy it. People walk huge distances searching for humanitarian kitchens such as ours to get a single daily meal! Osteoporosis, decalcified teeth and chronic disease are now the norm. We cannot cope or deliver without you, the international community, stepping up with regular donations!! Even the smallest sums, such as $5 or even $1 to accompany every ‘like’ and ‘repost’ or ‘comment’, add up to make meaningful contributions. Please make time for us. Our survival depends on it.
