It was an excruciating week in the hospital when my dad died. Finally leaving the hospital, mom got a handwritten note from nurse Sylvia who had cared quietly in the background for my father in the ICU. I believe in our powerful potential to care about people we do not know.

FACT: I LOVE punny names for plants and pets. Like naming a frog Snoop Frog, or a fern Fernie Saunders. Any other good ones?
