I’m basically saying the data is not statistically significant and we don’t have enough of it to confidently call a top or bottom around the conference. The data shows cases for both outcomes, but it remains unclear due to the small sample size. So I actually said the complete opposite: we don’t know based on the data. Previous events show it’s possible we could drop an additional 30%, but that has historically happened anywhere between three days after the conference ends and 30 days out. We still have a full 30 days to contend with before even contemplating that scenario. Personally, I remain bullish for all or most of May, potentially into July — exactly as I outlined in my Sunday live stream about two weeks ago when we covered our Q2 expectations. So no, I’m not bearish. I’m still bullish. I was just having a little fun with the data to show what can be done when strong claims are made about specific events. The data is clear: we do tend to see pullbacks around the conference. However, those pullbacks look different depending on where we are in the cycle, and analyzing how the pullback behaves can actually tell you what part of the cycle you’re in. That was the whole point of the exercise, so please don’t misunderstand the research. Research is not predictive. My forecast is what I use to predict outcomes — not my research. My research simply gives me historical data to better understand what’s possible in the future.
