I don't think anyone can deny at this point that MJF/Cole, and by extension, AEW, have embraced full scale NXT/WWE style melodrama. It definitely removes some of AEW's identity and can be cornball as fuck. It's also possibly the most over act they have at the moment.

@froonding_loom @Leask To me, the big thing AEW doesn't do that WWE does is spoonfeed every little thing to the audience (this is also the thing that makes so many fans the most mad). And there's some New Japan style in the mix. But yeah, it's otherwise pro wrestling storytelling.

@Leask Yeah and like, the indie dudes came up on the same style that got fellas like the undisputed crew, Gargano, Ciampa, et al signed to NXT!
