@fawneyedevil @ijbolnyra I'm not saying you don't need Valyrian blood at all, because the plot is clear that it matters. I am saying that not all dragon riders had to be products of sibling relationships nor do they need to have Valyrian features as a byproduct of said incest.

@ijbolnyra It's all good! I love Nettles and highlight her amongst Black Valyrians. I know folks just try to say she's not Valyrian at all due to her Blackness, but that's exactly why she's important. I try not to look at every reply, so im sure there's some folks spreading nonsense.

nettles is still a valyrian she's just not from targaryen lines and very possibly from the long lost house belaerys that were more powerful from targaryens and cuz dragonriding is magical ability aka not tangible ability its okay to accept that

@fawneyedevil @ijbolnyra George wouldn't emphasize her Blackness so much if it didn't matter at all narratively. Her not looking Valyrian and not being "pure blood" does play a role.

@fawneyedevil @ijbolnyra I am aware her father is a Targaryen, my point is that Nettles stands out because she has no valyrian features. People assumed the features were a necessity and that incest had to occur in every relationship. But that was not the case with Nettles, same with Rhaenyras sons.
