@ranidpuer @silversleep7 Yeah, I do agree with the overall point. He cant feel empathy, thats the entire reason his character became the way he is. He still remembers and longs for that feeling and goes through the motions sometimes. Like how he still misses Chara

anytime someone tries using the alarm clock dialogue to try and argue that flowey can feel love and compassion and empathy and its like yayy he's sweetheart toriel sweetheart baby who loves his mama but have you also considered that maybe youre just wrong

@ranidpuer @silversleep7 The alarm clock dialogue said this happened in the Ruins when Toriel passed out after waiting for someone to fall & forgetting to eat or sleep. It was before Asriel had been temporarily restored.

@silversleep7 exactly. considering that the alarm clock dialogue most likely takes place post true-pacifist i wouldn't be surprised if he did it because he felt that he "had" to because of the small window of time where he was still able to feel genuine love and such as asriel

The Cleave didnt happen because Tenna was a bad boss. Or because he hurt Spamton. Or because he's selfish. The Cleave happened because Tenna did something GOOD. Because he tried to free Toriel. Because he believed in a future where he was loved & didnt have to hurt people for it.

It wasnt a karmic retribution for his actions. It was him starting to put his faith in others and immediately being knocked down

@wandydoodles While yes, Black Shards have never been compared to another material and thus can still be “lacquer-like”, if that’s the intention, I think either the item description or Asgore’s secret monologue would’ve alluded to that already, especially for the latter’s case

Genuine question but isn't the 1225 room basically a confirmation that Dess is connected to shadow crystals and black shards. I don't see that being brought up much

@yogurawr Enough time resetting that he grew tired of it and allowed time to move forward long enough for Frisk to arrive. At that rate, for him to have seen everything underground but never Frisk's arrival, his existence this timeline ALONE is maybe a decade without resetting.
