Ultraseven's Wide Shot is so close to the Spacium Beam that I thought they were just the same thing for a longest time. (Also why I cheated and used the same texture for both!)

I’m excited for the new GITS anime, but I’m confused by this idea that the Mamoru Oshii movies are somehow “lesser” for not being faithful adaptations. I doubt people in the 90s cared this much, so like idk why it’s suddenly become such a huge talking point online?
