If you're in the L.A. area and want to donate anything to help the firefighters, I've been told that these are some of the things they'll really appreciate: Gatorade, Red Bull, bottled water, protein bars, beef jerky, dried fruit, nuts, disposable razors, chapsticks and eye drops

@nadiaudio I haven't lived in the UK for a while, so I might be out of date but: 1) that area used to have a pretty low cost of living by UK standards 2) you don't need to account for America's insane cost of healthcare, education etc 3) it's low, although perhaps not for a beginner? 🤷🏽‍♂️

2/2...I had the sinking realization that, no matter how sophisticated the available software, I will never be a talented enough sound designer to replicate the noise I made.

Even though I am, as usual, in the sort of position where I could do with losing a bit of weight, I've just eaten 43,000 walnuts. This was, I believe, a stress response to the fact that I was putting on my right shoe this morning when a black widow scuttled out of it and... 1/2

looks like i got hit. i work A LOT and im obsessed with work, everyone knows this. there's nothing i could've done to not be laid off. in fact i was literally working so much that so many people told me "you'll be ok, we need you to train/manage the outsourcers"

@EleonorBindman I have a couple of CD burners and printers in my studio. I'm often asked by clients to create (very) small runs of CDs.

How many of you own a CD player?💿🤔Labels are still manufacturing CDs even though I heard years ago that their time is coming to an end…. #ClassicalMusic #recording #Bach

I think what Rishi and his chums don’t understand is that you can work extremely hard and not be paid much money. My parents worked extremely hard growing up, but unfortunately were in jobs (care worker and mechanic) that didn’t pay large sums of money.

@NoonWithATune I'm sometimes asked to give careers talks. My top two (unexpected) tips include: only keep healthy snacks in the house and get up and move every hour, no matter how inconvenient. I know that some people used to keep treadmills in their studios. Is that still a thing?

And this is why I've joined the gym. I've decided that I need to take action to try and combat the way I've been feeling about myself for the past few years. The downside to my job is that I'm incredibly sedentary, and so have put on several stone since being busier.

@nadiaudio Oh, I absolutely agree. If I had to have a career other than music, I often feel I'd be well suited as a dialogue coach.

obviously u can tell my pet peeve is weird voice direction ;/ it has ruined a lot of media for me, i can't stand phony accents and i feel so bad we're all just dealing with more and more media containing atrociously bad accents. soon enough it's all there will ever be for us

@NoonWithATune I was in the crowd for a massive gig where one of my tracks was played. It was an extraordinary, 'pumped up' feeling, very different to hearing one's work on tv or a movie. Sadly, my own bands never reached similar, stadium levels of success 😄😄

To those of you who play gigs to massive crowds. Is it an odd feeling having everyone cheer and sing your songs at the gig, and then the next day, you're at home cleaning the toilets and unloading the dishwasher? I get quite bad post-gig blues, & I'm not even the one on stage.

@nadiaudio We've certainly found L.A. much friendlier, but when we lived in Seattle we didn't experience the 'freeze' to any great extent. (Since emigrating from England we've lived all over the US. CA is the best place by far!)
