@SpecialDrai You're hearing is correct. Roger Doucet was known for his bilingual versions of our anthem and giving it his own twist. Famously, he changed 'we stand on guard for thee' to 'we stand on guard for rights and liberty' in his renditions.

On this day in 1919, Roger Doucet was born in Montreal. A gifted tenor, he became famous for singing O Canada at Montreal Canadiens, Montreal Expos and Montreal Alouettes games in the 1970s. He popularized the bilingual version of the anthem. He died in 1981.
