I’m not a futurist, and I’m not driven by modern theological systems. If you force a label, this is the closest fit: Apostolic and covenantal — Christ-centered, Scripture interpreting Scripture. I read the Bible the way the apostles did: – Christ fulfills the Law and the Prophets – Shadows give way to substance – Type gives way to fulfillment – Earthly patterns become spiritual realities – Israel according to the flesh gives way to Israel in Christ – The kingdom is received now, not postponed Christ reigns now. His kingdom is present, heavenly, and spiritual — not political or ethnic. God’s promises are fulfilled in Christ and shared with His Body, not deferred to another age. I don’t read Revelation to reinterpret Genesis. I read Genesis through Christ — because that’s how the apostles taught us to read.

Your statement is a perfect snapshot of the dangerous elevation of Jewish ethnicity over the finished work of Christ that drives Messianic Zionism. Here is why it’s doctrinally off-base and spiritually dangerous. You state: “The unique identity of Jesus is more than the work of the Cross and the Resurrection…” That’s already a red flag. The New Testament gives no other “reason” for Christ’s incarnation than: To save sinners (1 Tim. 1:15) To destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8) To bring us to God (1 Pet. 3:18) To give His life a ransom for many (Matt. 20:28) To gather together in one all things in Christ (Eph. 1:10) There is no verse that says Christ became flesh “to reign over a redeemed Jew.” That’s a theological invention, not divine revelation. “We preach Christ crucified… the power of God, and the wisdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:23–24) You claim: “Jesus was born to reign on earth as King over Jacob on David’s throne.” But the New Testament says plainly: Jesus already reigns on David’s throne: “God hath raised up Jesus… to sit on his throne.” (Acts 2:30–33) Jesus reigns now at the Father’s right hand: “He must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.” (1 Cor. 15:25) His kingdom is not of this world (John 18:36) The throne of David has been exalted, not relocated to a patch of real estate in earthly Zion. The heavenly Zion is now the seat of the kingdom (Hebrews 12:22). This line is particularly alarming: “The Jews are irrevocably elected by God to operate as head of the nations at Zion.” That’s not Christianity, that’s national theocracy dressed in covenantal language. It turns the gospel into a political arrangement where ethnicity and geography define divine privilege. But Paul destroys this idea: “There is neither Jew nor Greek… for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:28) “He is not a Jew, which is one outwardly…” (Romans 2:28) “They which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.” (Galatians 3:7) What is the real identity of Jesus? What does the Bible say about Christ’s identity? He is the Lamb slain (Rev. 13:8) He is the High Priest forever (Heb. 7:24) He is the Head of the Church, which is His body (Eph. 1:22–23) He is King of kings and Lord of lords (Rev. 19:16) — not of one nation, but of all To say that His identity hinges on ruling over redeemed Jews in physical Zion is to diminish the very glory of His Person and reduce the eternal Son of God to a tribal monarch. “God… hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son… whom He hath appointed heir of all things.” (Hebrews 1:1–2) What About Romans 11:29? “The gifts and calling of God are without repentance.” (Rom. 11:29) Yes, and those “gifts” are fulfilled in Christ. They are not a guarantee of national supremacy, but a testimony to God’s mercy, that even now, Jews can be grafted back into the olive tree through faith in Christ (Romans 11:23). You are teaching “another Gospel” This is not “rejecting Replacement Theology.” This is replacing the cross with ethno-centric eschatology. It is the Judaizing error repackaged — exalting the flesh over the Spirit, and man’s heritage over God’s Son. “If righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.” (Gal. 2:21) Let’s never forget the real telos (end, goal) of Christ’s coming: “To reconcile all things unto himself… whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.” (Col. 1:20)

The apostles teach that the “nation” today are all believers in Jesus Christ. 1Pe 2:9  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, AN HOLY NATION, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: God only has ONE Nation and it is an HOLY NATION.

Ezekiel 36 is not about a future geopolitical program, it’s about the New Covenant. Look at what God actually promises: “I will sprinkle clean water upon you…” “A new heart also will I give you…” “I will put my Spirit within you…” (Ezek. 36:25–27) This is regeneration language, nothing to do with land.. And the New Testament tells us exactly when that began: “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit…” (John 3:5) “That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word…” (Eph. 5:26) “According to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost” (Titus 3:5) Ezekiel 36 is fulfilled in the New Covenant through Christ and the Spirit, not postponed to a future national revival apart from the gospel. And notice the order: cleansing, new heart, Spirit within… then fruit. That’s exactly how the gospel works now. Ezekiel 36 has happened spiritually? That’s how the apostles applied it.

@Stovepipe7979 @5solas I am familiar with that passage. It could refer to a future revival among Jews but I don’t hold a firm opinion on it. I’m happy that the Jews are in the land. I’m a strong supporter of Israel. I look forward to many Jews coming to Jesus. I am myself of Jewish descent.

James gives one of the most searching and sobering tests in all of Scripture because he forces us to ask what kind of “faith” we actually possess. It is possible for a man to possess correct information about God and yet remain spiritually dead. That is exactly why James says: “The devils also believe, and tremble.” Demons are not atheists. They know God exists. They know Christ is Lord. They know judgment is coming. They know His authority is absolute. But despite all that knowledge, they have: no loving trust in Him no submission to Him no union with Him no desire for fellowship with Him And that is the terrifying thing. Because many people today reduce Christianity to: correct doctrine theological arguments moral effort church attendance or intellectual agreement with facts about Jesus But Christianity is not knowing things about Christ, it is knowing Him. That’s why Scripture says: “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith…” (2 Cor. 13:5) People may say, “I believe God exists”, but the deeper question is: Have I come to Christ? Do I trust Him? Do I desire Him? Is there movement of heart toward Him? Is there love for the brethren? Is there conviction when I wander? Is there hunger for fellowship with Him even in weakness? Those things do not save us, but they are signs of spiritual life. That’s why James says faith without works is dead. He is not saying works save us. He is saying true faith is alive and therefore moves, breathes, responds, trusts, follows, and loves. A man may be able to discuss theology brilliantly and still not know the Lord. The Pharisees could quote Scripture while rejecting the One Scripture testified of. It was never about, “Do I know doctrine?” But, “Do I know Him?” Because eternal life is relational: “This is life eternal, that they might know thee…” (John 17:3)

Martha was “cumbered about much serving.” Mary sat at Jesus’ feet, and notice something sobering: Martha was not out in open rebellion, she was serving. Religious flesh often hides itself in activity, performance, duty, and visible usefulness. And eventually Martha became irritated with the one who had found rest: “Lord, dost thou not care…?” That is often what happens when someone discovers true Sabbath rest in Christ. Those still laboring under religious self-effort frequently become suspicious, frustrated, or accusatory toward believers who are quietly resting at Jesus’ feet. Because religious flesh feels threatened by rest. It understands striving, performance, anxiety, proving and laboring for approval. But it struggles to understand abiding, trust, sonship, peace and communion. Jesus did not rebuke Mary for “not doing enough.” He defended her. “Mary hath chosen that good part…” The deepest work in the Christian life often begins when the soul finally stops trying to justify itself through religious activity and simply learns to remain near Christ. True Sabbath rest is not laziness. It is freedom from the exhausting tyranny of self-maintained righteousness.

Religious self-rule is one of the most exhausting tyrannies on earth. It constantly whispers try harder, prove yourself, perform better, stay worthy, don’t fail and keep climbing. Even many sincere Christians live under this hidden yoke. They speak of grace, yet inwardly live as spiritual laborers trying to secure acceptance through effort, consistency, performance, knowledge, or religious activity. But the cross was not given just to forgive bad behavior, it was given to end the old self-governed life altogether. The flesh, even religious flesh, always wants control. It would rather strive than trust, perform than abide, labor than rest and rule itself than surrender to God. That is why true Sabbath rest feels so threatening to religious flesh. Because true rest means Christ is enough. Not, “Christ plus my constant self-maintenance.” Jesus said: “Come unto me… and I will give you rest.” (Matt. 11:28) Not: “I will give you another treadmill.” The deepest freedom in the Christian life is not freedom to rule yourself, it is freedom from the exhausting burden of trying to be your own keeper. The soul finally learns His will is safer than mine, His righteousness is better than mine, His strength is better than mine and His government is better than mine. And there, at last, the weary heart begins to rest.

True Sabbath rest is not laziness, passivity, or doing nothing. It is the soul finally learning: “His will is better than mine.” For years many believers fight God’s dealings, cling to self-will, fear surrender, and exhaust themselves trying to secure life by their own understanding. Then through trials, failures, chastening, and mercy, they slowly discover: “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.” (Prov. 18:10) The Christian life is not the destruction of the will. It is the will finding peace in trusting the Father. Jesus Himself said: “Not my will, but thine, be done.” That is not slavery, that is sonship. The deepest rest is not found in independence from God, but in willing union with Him. God working in us: “both to will and to do of his good pleasure” is not bondage… it is freedom from the exhausting tyranny of self-rule. That is true Sabbath rest.

Some believers think every exhausted moment means God is angry with them. Sometimes it is not rebellion, it is simply weariness. Elijah collapsed under the weight of life and wanted to die. God did not first rebuke him. He gave him rest, food, quietness, and His presence. There is a difference between conviction and condemnation. The Holy Spirit draws us back to Christ. Condemnation drives us into hiding. A weary believer saying, “Lord, I’m struggling but I still want You,” is not the cry of a hardened heart. And not every moment of rest is sin. Sometimes a tired mind needs stillness. Sometimes an overwhelmed soul needs quietness. Sometimes a believer simply needs to breathe. The Lord is not a cruel taskmaster standing over exhausted sheep with a rod. “He knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.” (Ps. 103:14) Faithfulness is not always emotional intensity. Sometimes it is simply turning back toward Him again, even while weary.

If every person’s eternal destination was immutably fixed before birth in such a way that they could never truly respond otherwise… then the question naturally arises: Why even preach the Gospel? Why plead? Why persuade? Why warn? Why grieve over unbelief? Why say: “Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” (Rev. 22:17) The apostles preached as men speaking to real people making real responses before a real God. Paul said: “Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men…” (2 Cor. 5:11) Jesus wept over those who refused Him: “Ye would not.” (Matt. 23:37) The tragedy of unbelief in Scripture is never presented as: “They lacked secret election.” It is presented as: “They refused the light God gave them.” The Gospel is not theatre. The invitations of Christ are not scripted illusions. God genuinely calls men to repent, believe, and come to His Son. And men are genuinely responsible for how they respond.

That illustration completely destroys the sincerity of the Gospel invitation. In that system: * the destination is already fixed * most passengers were never intended to arrive safely * and the invitation to “believe” becomes little more than informing people what ship they were secretly assigned to. But Scripture does not present God standing over humanity saying: “Most of you were created for destruction and could never truly come.” It presents Him saying: “Come unto me…” “Whosoever will…” “Why will ye die?” “Ye would not come to me…” The tragedy of unbelief in Scripture is not: 👉 “They lacked secret assignment.” It is: 👉 “They refused the light given.” Romans 9 must never be interpreted in a way that overturns: * God’s genuine appeals * man’s real responsibility * or the sincerity of the Gospel invitation itself. The cruise ship analogy turns human history into a scripted theatre where most people never had any meaningful possibility of responding to God at all. That is not how the apostles preached the Gospel. The apostles preached Christ openly to all men and held all men responsible for how they responded to Him.

This is how I understand Gods providence, sovereignty, and free will that he has given humans regarding predestination and your eternal salvation. There are two cruise ships, both identical in every way, in and out, but with two completely different destinations; the first is Heaven (cruise ship A), the second is Hell (cruise ship B). Gods sovereign plan is already set and unchanging. The humans on each cruise ship have been given free will from God; they can move about on the ship, re arrange deck chairs, communicate with others, etc. but they are completely incapable of changing their final destination. God predestined every single human being to be either on cruise ship A or B. You may find this to be hard to understand, but remember, God is God, and we are his creation. He can do as he pleases. He will show mercy to whom he will show mercy (Romans 9:15-18). Romans 9:21-23 "Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?” Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding” We should never question Gods sovereignty and will for us. It is not for us to know. What shall I do then you may ask? Believe on his Son, put your faith and trust in what Christ did for you personally, and you shall have everlasting life. John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved”

That’s actually one of the better insights Nee had. The Christian life does not begin with: striving, performing, or “trying harder.” It begins with resting in what Christ has already accomplished. Sit → Walk → Stand. First: seated with Christ. Then: walking in that reality. Then: standing against the enemy. Many believers reverse the order and spend their lives trying to fight for a position Christ already obtained for them. The danger comes when “deeper life” teaching drifts into mysticism, elitism, or spiritual hierarchy. But the core truth remains: Victory is not produced by the flesh straining upward toward God. It flows from abiding in Christ and walking in what He has already secured.

@TheOvercomerMag Very well said! If I may, I read a Watchman Nee book years ago and he pointed out the seemingly backwards progression of a disciple's position in the Spirit, as laid out in Ephesians. Sit, Walk, Stand.

A theological system can become so dominant that a believer slowly stops looking at Christ and starts looking constantly at themselves. “Am I elect enough?” “Was my repentance genuine enough?” “Do I have enough evidence?” “Am I persevering enough?” The Christian walk subtly becomes: introspection instead of rest, performance instead of sonship, fear instead of assurance, and system-maintenance instead of fellowship with Jesus Christ. The New Testament continually calls believers to: abide, walk, follow, trust, yield, love, and rest in Christ. God is not raising theological machines that endlessly analyze themselves. He is raising sons who walk with their Father by faith and by the Holy Spirit. “Come unto me… and I will give you rest.” (Matt. 11:28)

Leviticus 19:34 is not a command to erase borders, ignore invasion, or confuse the stranger with the enemy. The KJV says: “But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you…” That is a lawful sojourner living among Israel under the moral order of God’s law. It is not an invading force. It is not a hostile people coming to plunder, rule, corrupt, or destroy. Scripture commands mercy to the stranger. It does not command national suicide. The same Bible that says love the stranger also warns Israel that foreign nations coming in to consume their land would be a sign of judgment. “A nation which thou knowest not shall eat up the fruit of thy land…” Deuteronomy 28:33 So the issue is not compassion versus cruelty, the issue is whether men are willing to read the Bible honestly instead of forcing modern ideology into the text. The stranger who dwells peaceably among you is one thing. The invader who comes to conquer you is another.

Dispensationalism can subtly train believers to live looking outward instead of upward. Watching: nations, wars, politicians, temples, timelines, and headlines… while neglecting: abiding in Christ, walking in the Spirit, putting off the flesh, loving the brethren, and overcoming in daily life. The Christian walk subtly becomes prophetic speculation instead of spiritual transformation. But the apostles constantly brought believers back to present realities: “Christ in you…” “Walk in the Spirit…” “Put on the new man…” “Set your affection on things above…” A system that keeps the believer endlessly scanning the horizon can slowly distract him from the kingdom already at work within. The New Testament calls us to readiness, not obsession. Watchfulness is good, living in prophetic anxiety is not. Jesus did not say: “Follow events.” He said: “Follow me.”
