Interesting few days ahead trying out the latest Ferrari models on Irish roads. Not sure if the helicopter is a prop or the property of one of the other guests where we are staying…

@NiecyOKeeffe Local PP died maybe 14/15 years ago. New priest stayed in a very comfortable hotel for a couple of months while the parochial house was being "modernised" to his standards. It's a large house, there's actually also a "curate's house" next door, empty as far as I know.. #truestory

Why are there parochial houses dotted around this country with but one priest living in them? They could be made into apartments for ppl that need housing. Priests don’t need big houses like that. Let them get a flat. They’ve no kids. They’ve no spouse. Rent a flat, Father.

Thank you to a brave woman. My brother went to see Pauleen in the hospital; she is the last living woman who sheltered children who fled or were rescued from Ireland's notorious industrial schools. More than 50 years ago, she took him in to her tenement room and disguised 1/3

@Liz_ORiordan Rules of Civility by Amor Towles. It's a few years old; I came to it late as one of the characters reappears in his recent Table for Two. Both highly recommended! Also, if you haven't read it, Still Life by Sarah Winman is wonderful - it's like a holiday in Florence with friends.
