@MartinSLewis Is it true that they deduct pension contributions? So if you earn just over £50k but your pension contributions take it below £50k, then you won't get charged?

I was just asked "I've recently received a high income benefit child benefit charge. I earn £53k my wife £12.5k. Yet I've read if we both earned £49k, we wouldn't have received the charge . How is that fair?" That's correct. Sadly the answer is simple. It isn't fair.

Does anybody have a bathroom mirror that has lights and a demister? Is it worth having one?

@Pops__o Penny for the Guy was more of a thing. We made Guys a few times & went knocking or sat outside the cornershop. Then took the Guy to the local firework display to be thrown on the bonfire. Sparklers, toffee apples, candy floss & apple bobbing.

@Pops__o It really wasn't a thing in my area. I remember 1 yr my mum tried to carve a swede. And 1 yr we attempted trick or treating but none of the houses we tried really understood, so we'd get the odd handful of coppers or a random piece of fruit.

When we went trick or treating in the 80s we knocked for money, everyone gave us money, maybe the odd sweet here and there. Was that just where I lived?

@_celia_bedelia_ And don't forget that we should exercise to lose weight but not in public because clearly we're so repulsive, our bodies aren't suitable for public viewing & will be mocked accordingly.

Fat people can’t win - we should lose weight but it has to be the “right way” way. If we don’t want to lose weight, we’re bad. If we do want to lose weight, we just hate ourselves. Don’t take meds, only diet and exercise. If we do take meds, it’s bad because it’s “easy.”

@harrisonjbrock Because it's the artist Lucy Claire Dunbar's signature style & how she chooses to pay tribute - showing someone being accompanied by a friend on their final journey. Might not be your cup of tea but that's ok. It clearly resonates with a lot of people.

@ChafyMcStretchy I am heartbroken to hear of the loss of your beautiful son. It shouldn't ever come to this. I will continue fighting for my own boy until my final breath. So much love to you & yours. 🖤

@SpillerOfTea Trans people's existence isn't a "problem" or a "conundrum". It's not Countdown ffs. He's talking about actual human beings.

@simonharris_mbd I've only ever bought normal adult toothpaste. My kids are 11 & 17 now. Always thought the special flavoured kids' ones were just a marketing con.

@stephenwhittle This, combined with Mordaunt's repeated calls to "stand up & fight", will almost certainly result in more violence against LGBTQ+ people.

Prof. Stephen Whittle OBE, PhD, DLaws, FAcSS,
This is Rishi Sunak speaking - the barbarity of vilifying a minority group, making them a target for thugs & bullies, is as close to facism as I can imagine

@MartinSLewis My kneejerk response was 'not an immigrant' but I should've put 'descended from'. I believe at some stage in my family tree, we came from French Huguenots on my father's line, & Irish gypsies on my mother's line.

Out of interest, do you identify as an immigrant to the UK or perhaps child or grandchild of immigrants to the UK? Which of these is closest to how you feel about yourself in the immigration debate...

@KatyMontgomerie Very slight infection on a small part of the incision with my first (emergency csec). No additional pain. Antibios sorted. 2nd (planned csec) was fine. Big pants (no elastic on the wound) & really careful to lie on my bed for 5-10 mins to let it dry out fully after washing.

@RhonddaBryant We pay Arriva £180 per month for husband & son's bus passes. Hub's 1st bus today was late so he missed his 2nd bus. It takes him 2hrs by bus vs 30 min by car. Son's bus hasn't turned up at all. Next one should arrive in 30 mins, making him late for class. 1.5hrs vs 20 min by car.

Broken Britain. My train today is cancelled. My train yesterday was delayed. Three of my trains this month have been so overcrowded people have had to sit on the floor for two hours. But Sunak wouldn’t know because he is in his helicopter.
