Pre-Release Patch Notes (Mar 26, 2026) Update 5 (Part 1) Enable via Launcher → Settings → Pre-Release Update 5 Part 1 went live yesterday on pre-release, while we launched Update 4 for release. This one's on the smaller side, so don't expect too much, but we're working on some big, fun updates! 𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗦 & 𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗣𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 - All chest stack sizes have increased from 10 to 25. - The icons for Bronze Pipes and Zinc blocks have been updated. - Watering cans and fertilizer can no longer be repaired. - Copper, Iron, and Rusty Steel Sickles can now be salvaged at the Salvager's Workbench. 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 & 𝗕𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗞𝗦 - Goldenwood is now found more often throughout Zone 4, including within some cities and villages. - FlammabilityConfigs for the Fire fluid ticker can now change block states upon burning blocks. 𝗔𝗨𝗗𝗜𝗢 - Sounds may now play differently depending on whether the player is in first or third person. - In third person, sounds now play at the player entity position and are thus spatialised in 3D as if they were playing for a remote player. - In first person, held items with ambient loops, such as torches, now play the sound offset to their position. 𝗨𝗜 & 𝗤𝗨𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗘 - The input system now accounts for action context when resolving input conflicts. - Improved item container operations performance through better data structures. - Improved upon back-end systems to support further localization. - Improved upon back-end systems to enhance performance. 𝗠𝗢𝗗𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 & 𝗧𝗢𝗢𝗟𝗦 - Added world-gen-v1 mod event hooks and asset types for modifying biome content. - Updated a number of keybindings for Creative Tools. - Added interpolation type support for BlockyAnimation. - ProjectileComponent#getCreatorUuid has been exposed, allowing plugins to determine the creator of a ProjectileComponent. - Improved the Creative Inventory search sorting. - Migrated custom Vector types to JOML equivalents. 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 & 𝗕𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗞 𝗙𝗜𝗫𝗘𝗦 - Fixed a crash that could occur when a crafting recipe's primary output was empty. - Implemented changes to prevent a number of ways that concurrent writes could happen with reads from backups. - Half slabs no longer cause an unexpected delay when placed. - Modern Cloth Roof Corner blocks should no longer appear inverted. - Lighting no longer applies incorrectly to blocks with tint masks. - Fixed spawn-point rotation handling. - Removed references to non-existent item descriptions. - Attempting to teleport via the world map without having permission to do so will no longer kick the player from the server. 𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗢𝗢𝗟, 𝗠𝗢𝗗𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 & 𝗣𝗟𝗨𝗚𝗜𝗡 𝗙𝗜𝗫𝗘𝗦 - Fixed an exception error that would occur with the /pedit command if the previous world was the Creative Hub. - Creative Hub instances will now be deleted when leaving the instance. - Fixed a number of community-reported issues related to lang key and UI errors. - Changed density minimums for the Decoration Brush to be 0. 𝗨𝗜 & 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗬 𝗙𝗜𝗫𝗘𝗦 - Fixed a crash when changing worlds while interacting with the world map. - Fixed a crash when selecting the 'Return to Crossroads' button in Creative Play. - Fixed a crash that could be caused by an invalid change in ActionInventory. - Removed per-frame allocations in interaction tick and entity UI animations to improve performance. - Fishing Traps now prompt the player to inspect them, rather than harvest them.

@HytaleNewsYT I get that they need to take care of the technical side of things, but they need to add substantial content asap, the game is already dying at a fast pace and they need to keep it afloat, adding pigtails haircuts and technical stuff only a handful people use won't cut it atm.

The final and bigger part of Update 4 is next week, lots of new blocks coming! 𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗦 & 𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗣𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 - Projectiles launched by the LaunchProjectile interactions now use the FlyIdle animation instead of the Idle animation. - New sword impact visual effects. - New Harvest Trophy visual effects. 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 & 𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦 - Adjusted the dirt fragment spawner color to match neutral soil. - Reduced allocation in various areas for spawn positions. - Improved performance of various world-gen features. - Added new conditions and a filter to allow NPCs to act or use attacks based on being buffed or debuffed. - Goat and Goat Kid animation updates. - Added a new separation mode to NPCs, which is less random and easier to control. - Backwards compatibility with existing NPC configurations. 𝗔𝗨𝗗𝗜𝗢 - Push To Talk adjustment: - PTT will now be blocked while the player is typing in chat. - Headphones (Stereo) setting adjustment: - Introduced spatial blending. - Sound will blend between both ears rather than being either left or right, which can cause disorientation, especially with voice. - Improved voice chat audio quality on the capture side, as well as added resilience against packet loss on the playback side. - Updated reverb functionality for Caves, Forest, Mountain & Savanna. - Updated proximity voice chat to correctly bind the dry filter. - Increased the max number of sound event layers from 4 to 8. - Added a new "Toggle Voice Chat" keybind, which is unbound by default. It allows the player to enable/disable voice chat via the keybind once set. - Added a new "Push to Talk (Toggle)" input mode. Rather than holding in the PTT keybind, players can now toggle between emitting voice or not. 𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗙𝗜𝗫𝗘𝗦 - Fixed voice transmission stopping when menus are open. - Added detection on game start if the user needs to load an extra font (CJK) when they use "Use System Language" as a setting. - Fixed low mouse sensitivity from charged mace swings getting stuck sometimes. - Fixed mouse sensitivity changes from status effects getting cancelled out by charging attacks. - Fixed eating food resetting your mouse sensitivity. - Cleaned up a number of minor issues within the audio module. - Fixed filters not being bound to sound effects early enough. - While underwater, players would hear sounds without the underwater filter. - Fixed an issue where the mouse input is sometimes locked/stuck. - Fixed "Reset To Defaults" button losing events. - Fixed PTT issues with voice chat, now handling mouse buttons. - Fixed a delayed doubling effect when using spatial blending in headphones stereo mode.

I really wish trapdoors of the same kind of wood would blend in a bit better. I was trying to do a hobbit house type of thing but the trapdoors simply don't match the wood planks like they do in Minecraft. @Simon_Hypixel @Hytale

@Jamezbower I hate how you can't use trapdoors on the lower half of a block, like in Minecraft. It's so useful when detailing and creating transitions from block to slab to trapdoor. Also, trapdoors don't really match their wood types/colors all that well... :/

Went full on side quest mode today in Hytale. When doing some building, I was trying to use diagonal rope as a way to add more detail to the exterior of builds, but it just didnt do what I needed it to.... So given that this is Hytale... I just made diagonal Beams! I also went down the rabbit hole of making sure diagonal beams will snap to whichever wall they are placed next to, which now works perfect for adding extra details to walls, or wooden angled supports! Ive uploaded the project to @CurseForge, waiting on approval, and will post the project here, so you all too can bathe in the glory of diagonal beams! Debated even uploading the project, as its surley only a matter of time until @Simon_Hypixel adds them to the base game! Tweaking up everyone's favourite Magma Rhino Toad for the next patch to make it feel more interesting to fight. Neither a nerf nor a buff. The toad spams the tongue move less now but has more mobility with this gap closer. @Hytale

@Simon_Hypixel Is there a mining helmet in the game already? One that we can put on while mining so we don't have to carry a torch? Or maybe that could be an attachment you add to your helmet, so you can upgrade your armor and tools without having to replace them.

What was your reaction when you first entered the Forgotten Temple in Hytale? I was watching videos of emotional reactions, and it made me emotional as well! This was my reward for all the sacrifices made in the past 4 months! Share your videos if you did! The temple was built from the ground up last December, just a few days ago, as a love letter to the community that has supported us throughout the acquisition. We didn't get enough time to do everything we wanted in there, but that's ok, it's going to evolve over the next few months! We had to build the map, add new VFX, a new merchant system, a new soundtrack, integrate a new memories system, place NPCs, and much more. It was such a great time, I want to add more of these special locations.

@Simon_Hypixel That's a good start. I noticed that sometimes it's a bit hard to see the ore block if you're mining it from the side or underneath, like if it's in a wall, surrounded by other blocks. The underside of the ore block isn't as easy to interpret, that's what I was trying to say.

I need suggestions to make mining in Hytale more satisfying / fun! I’m not happy with it, finding ores or strip mining is not good enough. I’m considering adding signature ability to pickaxes + improving the sounds / visuals of mining.
