Blood and Wine was around 10-15GB. The New Songs of the Past Expansion is around 20GB. Likely partially due to some other included features and working without the PS4/Xbox One constraints. Still, that is pretty significant.

@Michal_Marczvk That might explain the massive jump. For comparison Blood and Wine was around 10-15 GB. So this is large, likely some other stuff in there too, or perhaps it is just bigger because they are working outside the constraints of xbox one/ps4 hardware

@TheRangerGeorge Perhaps an overhaul to some systems? Since they are dropping hdd support, maybe there wont be the same face syndrom for the npcs? It was known limitation (they said that they had to remove a lot of them so the consoles would run the game).

@TheRangerGeorge Also, Ive seen lots of people think this is gonna be HoS sized or even smaller, that seems outrageous to me. We know theyve been developing this expansion for nearly a year now, and we're not getting it till '27. That tells me this is at something quit stout and expansive!

@mrswip1 It is fantastic and inherently subjective I suppose. I think for me it’s the whole legacy and impact and depth (actual languages etc). But I get that stylistically some may prefer ASOIAF

@TheRangerGeorge While I do agree with you in certain ways, I still believe it’s much closer than people would like to admit. Especially if we take the sequels, spin-offs and what not into conclusion as well. George R.R. Martin’s world-building is at least as fantastic to me.

As much as I appreciate ASOIF, there really is no comparison. As G.R.R Martin said, if you compare the two icebergs Middle-earth is leagues deeper. It is linguistically congruent and many of the innovations Tolkien developed are present in al future works including ASOIF. Not to discredit that great series but there really isn't a comparison for me. Yes it is grittier and more political but the level is so extremely diffrent.
