187 individually engineered feather motifs converge into a layered, blooming peacock skirt. From graphite to gold and turning chaos to order! The soul of this project: This ballgown was inspired by the egyptian pharaoh Cleopatra VII.

Why Cleopatra VII you might ask? Because she wasn’t only described as beautiful, but as the living embodiment of the goddess Isis herself. Plumage Imperium represents divine stature, presence, and the silent power to command space without a single word.

The bodice carries the twin Wedjat eyes: The Eye of Ra and the Eye of Horus, the balance between destruction and protection, Chaos and order. This is discipline and devotion. This is couture as engineering. Apophis may swallow the sun… but the sun always rises again.

Yesterday reminded me of the importance of discernment within a community. In niche fields such as couture and tailoring, you tend to encounter three distinct mindsets: First, there are those who are open to learning. They are curious, they listen, they ask questions, and they evolve. Second, there are those who already resonate. These people understand the language of craft, intention, and soul, and they engage from a place of shared values. Finally, there are those who criticize from insecurity. Not the kind of critique that challenges you to refine your work, but the kind that seeks flaws to diminish your position, undermine your confidence, or establish dominance under the guise of “constructive feedback. These critics often mistake a single framework, method, or “book” for the entirety of the industry. They learn one system and attempt to apply it universally, believing their approach to be the only valid one. In a discipline as vast and layered as couture, this is a fundamental misunderstanding. Craft and design are not monolithic but plural by nature. There are countless ways to construct, interpret, and give life to a garment, each shaped by culture, intention, material, and philosophy. Reducing this diversity to a single rule set limits both creativity and progress. This form of criticism is rarely about improvement. It often emerges when someone cannot decode your design logic, your methodology, or your independence of thought. When agreement is not given, opposition is manufactured. In those moments, creating doubt is mistaken for leadership, and forcing retreat is mistaken for success. I’ve learned that not every challenge is a form of resistance and many are genuine invitations to dialogue. At the same time, not every critique carries wisdom and some are simply attempts at control. When your presence unsettles others without provocation, it is often because you are standing firmly in your principles. The boning and panelling are being developed in collaboration with Antwerp’s finest jewellers to ensure a level of construction that reaches jewellery-grade precision, refinement, and comfort. This is essential, as titanium is significantly more rigid than steel and demands absolute accuracy in both engineering and wearability.

Both will be integrated into custom panelling, layered between high-density coutil and silk using pocket-sewing techniques to ensure stability, protection, and precision in form.

After countless questions, speculation and requests, we can finally unveil the internal logic behind our most ambitious project to date: Regina Nilī • Plumage Imperium.

Regina Nilī • Plumage Imperium: A project that didn't go as smooth as originally calculated! Onwards now to the next phase of the commission! 8 days. 8 to 12 hours a day: From graphite to gold. From chaos to Ma’at. Regina Nilī • PLUMAGE IMPERIUM began as a sketch on December 15th. The original version reached its semi-final state on January 1st 2026 On January 6th, one single click in Clip Studio flattened all layers…,erasing 4 days × 12 hours of mathematical couture engineering. It was painful, humbling and necessary because chaos is never the end! It is the mythological forge behind all bespoke Apophis & Co. TM Creations! Today, January 14th, Regina Nilī • Plumage Imperium 2026 stands complete! Stronger with a much sharper core than the first incarnation ever was! Every fold recalculated! Every feather reborn! Every line carrying the memory of what was lost and what was mastered! This is discipline and devotion! This is not just illustration but architectural couture! Our client in specific, is struggling with her own form of isfet while trying to regain Ma'aT of her own kingdom: the cosmetics industry! Why choose Cleopatra VII? You never want Apophis to eat up the sun but sometimes that chaos is necessary to gain new perspectives and what a new perspective it gave! Yesterday, Liam made the horrible mistake of clicking the Flatten Image button in clip studio which destroyed 4 days of calculative work for the Regina Nilī project. It was painful and may we add absolutely stupid, but from chaos arises order with the project taking on a complete and massive improvement over our first iteration! Wish I could have joined my team in Antwerp today but I'm currently stuck at home because of a muscle rupture at my right upper leg! Even so, work never stops and neither does my lust to create! Even in sickness or in pain there is no excuse for laziness from an owner's perspective! In the meantime I'm surrounded by the best engineering tools and surroundings a private estate can offer!
