Has anyone noticed that the most famous Jewish person on Earth, Drake, and the most famous Palestinian person on Earth, DJ Khaled, haven't said a single thing about the Gaza-Israel conflict? It's not like Drake is too busy. He's been writing paragraphs about Joe Budden hurting his feelings about his new album. DJ Khaled has been working overtime promoting his new Jordan sneakers. But both of them have been silent on this topic. Why is that? It's because both are so thirsty to maintain their relevance that they wouldn't dare risk insulting a segment of their fanbase. Heaven forbid that Drake might debut at #2 behind Taylor Swift because some of his Palestinian fans chose to not stream his album. And it would be the end of the world if Khaled sold a few less sneakers because some Jewish people decided not to buy his Jordans. That's the difference between artists of today and timeless legends like 2Pac. You know damn well Pac would be the first one to speak out about something so close to home.

The big bro @FINALLEVEL made a huge point that HipHop veterans are filling seats and selling tix while some of these younger artists struggle w/ selling tix. We sell tickets because our fans bases are built upon hard copies sales of our music as oppose to having high steam numbers. Which are usually boosted thru click farms and when they use these click farms they forget that it’s bots and not actually people streaming their music. So when they see these outrageous stream numbers they think they got it poppin until they go on sale for a live show and you can’t fill not even a 3rd of the venue.

In Louisiana, black women were put in cells with male prisoners and some became pregnant. All children born in the penitentiary to blacks were property of the state. At 10 years, they would be auctioned off. The proceeds were used to fund schools for white children. -THREAD-

After dad was assassinated, Harry Belafonte joined me, mom, and my siblings in Memphis. He was one of the only people to make sure that mom and her children were taken care of in the months, days, and years after the assassination. He was there for us even when others had gone.

@ArsenioHall They're the objects that the season of Easter was associated with in Europe. The same way pines are associated with Christmas bcoz they were one of the few green trees in the season (in Europe)

So, what do colored boiled egg hunts, new Easter clothes, bonnets, hollow chocolate bunnies, Peeps, and hot cross buns, have to do with the resurrection of Jesus? #hmmmm

Hot on the heels of our Ladies Special we're featuring another incredibly talented woman on this episode. It's prolific percussionist, tabla player and producer @swarupaananth! She tells us what it was like like picking up the tabla at the age of 7, and having to impress Zakir Hussain’s father to join his school. She also performs songs from her debut solo EP, Recomeçar. Full episode here 😊🎧👇🏽 maedinindia.fanlink.to/podcast

On this day 39 years ago, I passed Wilt Chamberlain to set a new NBA scoring record. Two months ago, LeBron James passed my record. That’s exactly how it should be: athletes constantly pushing each other to prove there are no limits of human achievement. #Lakers #UtahJazz #NBA #evolutionofexcellence
