To the idiots saying this nonsense… 1. When Americans were told to rearrange their lives over a “cold,” we pushed back. Not because we didn’t care… but because people know when they’re being asked to absorb the consequences of bad policy. 2. Gas prices don’t just hit your tank… they hit everything. Food, construction, shipping, manufacturing… if it moves or is made with oil (which is basically everything), it gets more expensive. This isn’t optional spending… it’s survival spending. Stop with this “it’s just the tank” talking point of bullshit. 3. And here’s the part people love to ignore: Telling Americans to “just cut back” assumes people have margin to cut. Most people aren’t choosing between Starbucks and saving the economy… They’re choosing between groceries, rent, and getting to work. You don’t tell a single parent working two jobs to “reroute their fucking life.” You don’t tell a contractor who drives 200 miles a day to “just use less gas.” You don’t tell a small business owner whose entire operation runs on transportation to “tighten up for patriotism.” That’s not leadership… that’s deflection. 4. Logistics doesn’t magically adjust because someone gave a speech. Higher fuel = higher shipping = higher prices = slower movement of goods. That trickles down fast… and it hits the middle and lower class the hardest. 5. If you were honest with people and said: “Hey, this is going to hurt for a while, here’s why, and here’s what we’re doing to fix it,” you’d actually get more fucking respect. But don’t spin it like it’s some moral failure on the public for not wanting to struggle more. 6. And stop calling forced sacrifice “patriotism.” Patriotism isn’t blindly accepting bad outcomes… it’s holding leadership accountable so things actually get better. Kindly… FUCK OFF!
