Amorim and Carrick were given two very different responsibilities. Much of the hostility toward Amorim wasn’t about results alone, but about clashes with fan favourites and his willingness to move certain players on. That, more than anything else, fueled the hate. Carrick is doing a solid job as caretaker, but it’s important to be honest: he would likely have struggled if he were responsible for laying the long-term foundations of the rebuild. What he’s benefiting from now is the groundwork already put in place by Amorim and his coaching staff. You can see it in the improved set-piece structure, Bruno playing with more discipline, and the growing chemistry between the attacking players, the connections between Bruno, Cunha, Mbeumo, and wing-back Amad didn’t appear overnight. Carrick is building on an existing foundation, and to his credit, he’s doing that well so far. ❤️🫱🏻‍🫲🏽
